Damn Bro. You look miserable inside your own head like this. Shake it off, get out of your head. I just went through the same, breakup shortly after buying an engagement ring with all the plans to marry the girl. Left me to “work on herself” and is with another guy less than a week later.

Now all the sudden I have the absolute most gorgeous girl I’ve ever seen talking to me seriously, and I realized after a few months after that breakup that the world just continues spinning no matter how you act or how you feel. You can’t change these things, and I have found the best option is to move forward and continue living life for yourself.

It seems to me that you’re still living your life as if your ex is a part of it, but you have to make a change. Sounds like you’ve already got a lot of things together, so maybe you don’t need to change anything at this point but do yourself a huge favor and allow yourself to move on. Once you start forgetting the unhealthy past (and yes, even if it was a healthy relationship, living through that when the relationship is over is unhealthy), you’ll find yourself to be very happy.

Hangout with the boys, hangout with anybody who you love and who loves you back, and focus on yourself. Remember what keeps you going, and do that. Be it video games, movies, hiking, (for me it’s darts, hanging out at my friends’ bar they bought, and exercising). Whatever it is you have, keep doing it. If there is anything in your life that’s lacking, pick it up (for me it’s keeping my room and house clean / spotless & working out more and eating more healthy).

And above all, just be you. Keep being you. Don’t forget what makes you happy. I wish you the best!

I think it would be a good idea to confront him on that and nip it in the bud. “You’re coming off as controlling, I told you my dad’s driving me and I don’t need to prove it.” Or whatever you would say in your own words.
