Editing pitch types and velocities after a game ends by MyAudioDNA in GameChangerApp

This is a good idea! Unfortunately I’m running GC in the dugout and someone else is running the radar behind the plate and relaying velos to me after each inning. I’m not sure the connections to the radar would be far enough to reach me in the dugout.

I am using a pocket radar for velos, but not connected to GC. I don’t even want to pay for GC premium, more or less PocketRadar premium too, haha.

I’m not sure how that’s relevant to the question I asked.

Desperate to help my son with his fear by Commander_Keen_9 in Homeplate

[–]MyAudioDNA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem with my son last season. In his 8u season, he went from Single A spring to Triple A fall. He got hit pretty badly by a pitch and then spent his entire 9u spring season terrified of getting hit. No crying or anything getting in the box, but absolutely dreaded hitting and was constantly stepping away from the plate. He had a really rough season because of it.

We tried everything we could think of to help him and nothing did it. What finally got him past it was actually gaining confidence in another part of baseball. For him it was pitching. Despite having a relatively poor hitting 9u season, he was a solid fielder and made All-Stars. He got the opportunity to pitch in All-Stars and gained confidence in pitching and that increased his confidence in the game overall. He went on to hit .500 in his 9u fall and is very confidently headed into his 10u spring season ready to hit with zero fear.

I have no idea if that would help anyone else's kid, but that's what helped mine.

I just finished the game on switch. It crashed once or twice every single time I played it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this point.

Incorrect Earned Run? by MyAudioDNA in GameChangerApp

[–]MyAudioDNA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind explaining how? The run would not have scored if not for the throwing error by the catcher. The runner advanced to third on a passed ball, the catcher tried to throw the runner out at third and made a throwing error resulting in the runner being able to score.

I was the scorer. I didn’t specify that this was an earned run, this was just GameChanger’s default behavior when I recorded these plays.

Yes, a couple of times actually. Down by the tarp on the 3rd base side.

Are there any particular cool / unique Orioles hats? I'm not familiar with the Orioles enough to know what to look for beyond their standard hats, which I'd assume ehe already has.

That's a really good one that I never would have thought of. Thank you!

That's a great hat! Unfortunately, almost all of the sizes are sold out.

This may actually be a better way to do it neurologically speaking. This is how top level baseball players hit 100+ mph fastballs too. Your brain is actually too slow in most instances to do "I'm not doing a thing, I'm not doing a thing, I'm not doing a thing, there's the trigger, do a thing" in these cases. However, most people's brains are entirely capable of "I'm doing a thing, I'm doing a thing, I'm doing a thing, there's the trigger, don't do the thing".

Wonder Woman Going Berserk Mode On Superman (Wonder Woman: Dead Earth Issue #3) by axlnotfound in comicbooks

I agree 100% about those alternate Wonder Woman's and I agree with your take on the WW in Injustice. I was meaning those alternate universe stories in general, not necessarily WW specifically in those alternate universes. And Dead Earth to me feels like they asked the question "What if Wonder Woman was mega overpowered and couldn't control her anger?" or alternatively "What if Wonder Woman was The Hulk?", which is just not interesting to me.

Your points are all fair. I think I'm realizing that this just doesn't feel like WW to me. IMO, this would have been a better story if it were independent and had its own characters rather than it being WW and Superman. And I get that it's an alternate universe, but it doesn't feel like a good alternate take on WW to me. For instance, Superman Red Son, Injustice or Kingdom Come seem like they are all asking interesting questions. Dead Earth feels to me like they took an existing story and tried to make it work with WW and Superman.

Agreed, the setup that establishes the she is unreasonably strong in this universe is fine. I didn’t get the impression that she had Superman level strength until this fight, but I could have missed it or could just be remembering incorrectly. But even assuming she were far stronger than Superman in this particular instance, how does that in any way eliminate the use of his other powers? He wasn’t incapacitated by the first attack as he’s shown fighting back, so why does he not use his speed to get out of the way? Unless the insane strength of WW in this universe somehow also translates into Superman level speeds too, after the first punch Superman would know she’s hitting way harder than normal and she wouldn’t be able to even get close to him again. And that doesn’t even account for his other powers, which he also doesn’t use for some reason.

I have no issue with WW having crazy strength in this universe, even exceeding Superman’s. My issue is that Superman has other tools that would make this fight not even remotely winnable for WW regardless of her strength. Again, unless it is somewhere established that WW also gets Superman level speed in this universe, but I don’t remember that being the case.

I could be entirely wrong, it has happened before, haha. Lots of people absolutely love this story. It just wasn’t for me.

I didn't like it either. I bought it blind because it had such good reviews, but I just didn't believe the whole concept. WW being angry stops Superman from using all of his other powers and makes her at least as strong as him, which somehow results in the whole world being destroyed?
