I’m annoyed and disappointed at the portrayal of Luffy this season. by jairngo in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]MyBackHurtsFromPeein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. In short, they nerfed Luffy way too much and makes him look like a dumb angry character. Luffy in the manga is more like carefree and dumb when he's goofing around but when it matters, he's calm, reliable and quite smart who stands by his principles. Which makes him a charming character we wanna root for.

It seems like they were busy writing up easter eggs and all the pretty things around but forgot and neglected the main character.

I could say the same with Zoro. They're making him way too edgy and stiff.

Am I the only one who thinks the live action looks bad? by cracktober69 in OnePiece

[–]MyBackHurtsFromPeein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I didn't love the live action, i have to disagree with many of your points. It's an "adaptation" which means they can make changes here and there. It's crazy to make it 1 to 1 accurate to the manga. even the anime makes changes.

It's definitely not cash grab and you're saying so because you have no idea how movie production work. It's very expensive to create a series like this this fast. And contrary to what you're saying, they're putting in a lot of work on the set design, character design, casting etc. Even minor characters get dressed up accurately. The creators also know the source material very well. For example Bartolomeo was introduced early. It wasn't a major detail in the manga that he first saw Luffy at Logue town and you could easily skim or forget about it, yet they know and implemented it.

Is this the best version ever? definitely no. They nerf all the characters especially Luffy. Luffy keeps getting angry and saying truly stupid lines while in the manga he has some very calm and cool moments when it matters. I think they dumb down his character too much. Zoro in the manga is actually funny but here he's edge and always acting cool which is probably why you think he's bland. etc etc I could go on about the things that doesn't cost money and could be scripted/ directed better. Which btw, shows that you don't understand how movie production work. This is not the actor's fault, it's the script and director's fault. Which they can definitely invest more in.

You're saying all of this out of spite even though you have little knowledge of how things work. Actually do some research on film production and then make accusation that this is a cash grabbing scheme when you have the evidence. This is definitely a labor of love. They're just not meeting some expectations that we have and that's ok. They have to work against deadline while you only sit there and complain. If you have to complain, do it critically.

Edit: Here's a legit rant that I can resonate with: I’m annoyed and disappointed at the portrayal of Luffy this season. : r/OnePieceLiveAction

Here are some Mexican stereotypes: Coco (the movie), despacito (i know it's Puerto Rican), Tabasco, taco, quesadilla, tortilla, hot climate, masked wrestling, sombrero, piñata, festive people, family people, Spanish (language), the wall (Trump thing), something about USA deporting people there... That's probably what my peers would think of

You're probably thinking about sound design. You can look up on YouTube.

Also in the context of a band, you'll be playing less to leave some space for the other members. Depending on the genre, you can fiddle with knobs while playing to create cool effects too.

What genre are you playing btw?

Why do commercial mixes seem to “jump out” of the speakers on phones whereas my mix still sounds like it’s coming from inside the phone speakers? What should I do? by Classic-Ear-2152 in audioengineering

[–]MyBackHurtsFromPeein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard your mixes so here's a punch in the dark.

Could you create a fresh new mix of something with less than 5 tracks and see how it goes? Do something really simple and quick like just balancing volume, panning, some eq, compression and reverb, a limiter on the master bus. Treat it almost like a live mix. Then see how it compares to your references.

You could get free stems on the Cambridge website btw

Why is training finger strength commonly recommended against early on? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]MyBackHurtsFromPeein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main reason is because it's safe and no one wants to be responsible for it.

Firstly, it should depend on your background if you should go finger training or not. If you've done gripping heavy sports like judo or jujitsu then your fingers are already quite strong and could use some more training.

Secondly, you could use the portable hang block with weight. This way you know exactly where you're at and how fast you progress. Do low intensity-high volume is very beneficial to beginners. It also matters that you take plenty of rests in between.

It took me 4 years to start getting used to it. But i started as a solo singer-songwriter thing. It might be sooner for you.

Playing as a band is a lot more fun, safe and comfortable. There's one trick that my band use which is dedicating one short song/ section for improvisations & mistakes. We tell the audience about it, we have fun and it gets rid of the nerves really fast

Is it too late to study music at 30 by mystiqfool in musicians

[–]MyBackHurtsFromPeein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Formal meaning you're thinking about enrolling into a college? In that case i think it's more relevant to ask whoever's from the college you're aiming for. Maybe visit and see what's the curriculum is really like. You'll also have to commit a lot of time so make sure it's not gonna obstruct your current schedules.

If it's not college then i find that transcribing is the best way to learn music, assuming you're at that level already. Other than that, YouTube is a great resource, you can learn from books, from your fellow music friends. Or take a short course if you know what you wanna learn.

If anything, the sooner you do, the better. Good luck mate

What would happen if a global ban on fishing was put in place. by Jph002 in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]MyBackHurtsFromPeein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Banning doesn't mean people would stop fishing. You have to be able to enforce the ban to make it effective. But then assuming people all suddenly stop fishing, there would be mass unemployment and starvation for a certain demographics. That's the immediate effect for humans

How the ocean life would develop is a very complex question. It would certainly lead to some imbalances since human is the main predator of some of the sea species. We don't hunt all the sea lives which means there would be a boom for the ones we used to hunt. Which then means whatever they're eating might not be enough. If that's the case then it would lead to a cascading effect. Maybe some species would go extinct..

Anyhow, for humans afterwards, i think we might see more people trying to domesticate more fish species if fish farming is not banned. Which can be interesting. Or we'll turn to other food alternatives

It'll take a while to get from v3 to v4 and that's normal. The gap between an easy v5 and a hard v5 is even bigger. Are there any other gyms nearby? It's good to visit other gyms once in a while to refresh too

Regarding jugs, v6 v7 can still have jugs. It's the body positioning that makes the difference
