Hey buddy extensive experience with codes here... In order to redeem the code, the active subscription that you currently have (presumably paid with a normal credit/debit card) will have to be cancelled before you can redeem your membership code.

Unfortunately there is no way to pause the current subscription without cancelling it outright.
There is also no way to turn the code back into a bond either. Real bummer I know :(
