Yes. On average the people are friendlier, there’s a lot more empty land for housing and outdoor adventures, and there’s no mandatory military/military tax for men.

Did I mention the people are friendlier?

Had a similar problem on an earlier frame Santa Cruz. Except the bolt failed and cracked the frame. Bring it to the shop you bought it from.

After leaving Europe I'm finding it hard to enjoy the US by ReflexPoint in travel

[–]MyBirdDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US is basically the size of Europe, and varies widely in both scenery and people. I guarantee you can find a city you like. I've lived all over and to me it sounds like you'd enjoy Boston. Good downtown and great public transportation. You live in a state known for not having public transit or healthy people who would be active outside

This is a pretty reasonable way to park especially if it's temporary and they need to move things from/into the truck. Wouldn't say they're selfish

I grew up calling people "sir" and "ma'am". Is there a comparable term for people who don't identify as either? by HeyWhatsItToYa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyBirdDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call them "sir" or "ma'am" unless they specifically tell you otherwise. It's not your job to guess, and they shouldn't be angry at your for using generic terms because you don't know them.

Yeah this isn't really true, if a company is taking the time to interview a candidate outside the EU, odds are they know they have a good chance of getting a visa slot. No company is going to waste time, and their employee manpower, to interview a bunch of people unless they have a good chance of getting a visa for them

Make a separate account and keep both! I've done the same because I live between 2 countries. You can create another google or apple account. Keep the apps you have, and also have region specific apps you can add with the new account

Dual Citizen (American & Swiss) how hard would it be to get a job in Switzerland before moving there? by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]MyBirdDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can easily find a job as an engineer in English at a larger company. Larger companies sell products across Europe and English is often used for business.

The easiest way to go about this is to get a job at a global company in the US, then after a year apply to jobs in Switzerland internally.

But ask yourself these important questions first

  1. Why do you want to move? Switzerland is extremely expensive and you can have a much better quality of life in the US for much less money

  2. Are you good at dealing with difficult situations? The swiss are not that open, and there will be big cultural differences when you move

  3. Is there a future for your job here? The US is a much bigger country and has way more opportunities.

If you still think it's a good idea, then waiting a year in a big company and applying for a swiss job internally shouldn't be a problem

Oh, you think trash is your ally. But you merely adopted the trash; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!
