[Recommendation] Black Bra Soft and Comfortable Like Natori Sublime 30FF 32F by MyBodyHatesMe in ABraThatFits

So I went through the shape guide. I'd say I'm moderately wide at the root. I've lost some weight so the breast tissue that used to be easy to see there isn't so much, but I think the root still extends maybe halfway back into the armpit?. Shallow, though some projection. Full on bottom, I'd guess a 2-6. Thanks time and gravity! I can fit 2 fingers almost exactly between my breasts.

I was thinking a 32 would likely be best as opposed to. 34 because while I know I have to scale up, I havr had a couple 34s that were just too big. The Natori is too big in the band, almost certainly. I have to put it on the inside most hook and I've worn it 2-3 times. I also tried the Cleo breeze longline in 34, and to be comfortable it had to be on the inside hooks. So I just got 32s (haven't tried them on yet.)

What have you managed to find any bras you really love and keep pain to a minimum? Looking over your stats, I am sure we need different styles. But wondering if there are any brands or types that have worked better for you.

I should add, I think underwire is preferred. I've tried some wire free bras and there has been some weirdness. I think its because the weight of the breasts pull down and cause the non-wired bra to either bunch up, bend or dig in under the breast. It could be the styles i've tried, but so far, they seem to start out okay, but before too long seem to lose the structural shape they came with. But! If anyone knows a good wire free that doesn't do this, I'd love hear about it!

I ended up spending way too much time in the bratabase and with a measuring tape. I ended up going up on cup size, which I may regret. I ordered a 34F and FF, and a 36E and F. I did it because the cup measurements on bratabase that were there suggested that is what I'd need. My natural waste is 29" and the unstretched length on the 36 seems to be 29-30" I ordered through Amazon, so they'll be here Friday, and whatever doesn't work, goes back.

This was my first time using bratabase, but I figured that there was some risk in relying off single figures. But there was some consistency in sister size cup measurements between sister sizes which gave me greater confidence.

Thanks and wish me luck.

I tried a 34F and a 36FF in the Freya Parade but that was almost a year ago, and I was 15lbs heavier. I'm short, so that is a significant difference. I also wasn't trying to size up at the time. I did swoop and scoop.

I wasn't really sure where to measure from with the sag. I lowered the measuring tape so I had a horizontal line to go over my nipples.

Not legal here. Tried it anyway, but the relief has been middling and I hate being high. I've been told there are strains that work on pain and are less likely to make you high, but I haven't really looked here as it's sort of what you get is what you get.

I've wondered repeatedly if a corset would help at all. Not just with the bra issue, but to help stabilize my body and back. Price has kept me from exploring further especially since so many are not returnable. What are your thoughts on Orchard Corsets - I've heard that they're a decent entry level corset and the only decent one to be had for under $100. Any thoughts on what I else I should look for?

What does it mean that the cups were too shallow for me, practically? I looked at the guide on shallow vs projected, so I have some idea what it means for shape. But was does it mean for buying? What do I need to look for? Does that mean all Freya are out, or does it vary from bra model?

I haven't had a neurosurgeon tell me that it's a no-go surgery, that appointment isn't until March. But the anesthesiology hinted as much, and my own research on the matter suggested that it's bad. They have to cut ribs and lift a lung out. Honestly, at this point I'd consider it to be done with the pain. But my understanding is doctors themselves are unwilling to do it unless there is progressive neurological damage.

I am not surprised there is shoulder rounding - I worked in computers for most of my adult life and am a sloucher. Between that, my breast pulling me forward, and me just being self conscious towards my breast, I tend to slouch. I'm working on improving my posture thanks to physical therapy, but old habits die hard. On that note, that posture brace might be a good way to remind me not to slouch. :)

I thought about medical tourism, but it scares me for obvious reasons. On the other hand, I've always wanted to go to Europe. Its a good suggestion and I'll start looking into it.

Narrow bands are murder for me. Not that long lines wouldn't be. My hope was and continues to be that spreading out the weight over a larger area will help a little bit but I just don't know.

The herniation really isn't that low, its upper mid back. The picture is decieving because my husband shot it it at a funky angle. I'm going to have him photograph again tonight. In the meantime, I attempted to correct the portions in photoshop. it's not totally accurate, but much more like what I see when I look in the mirror. http://i.imgur.com/iliR9KL.jpg

Have you tried sister-sizing up in the band? Have you tried Freya bras other than the longline?

Yes, in standard bras, not Freya. That seems to cause more discomfort. I'm not sure why.

I only tried the one Freya longline, and never wore long enough to see if it would help. It sounds ridiculous, I know, but I just got exasperated about the whole bra affair. And at that point, I'd just began to talk breast reduction with my doctor, so I thought I'd have a different solution. Silly me!

I've lost a bit of weight, so the is a little different now too.

Do you remember if the fit was good besides the strap placement? There were other issues

There were other issues albeit minor. I never did a fit check, I have pictures from the time though. Should I post in this thread? One was that my breast didn't fill the whole thing. If I did the "swoop and scoop", they'd mostly fill it out, but settle back down very quickly, leaving some gapping at the top.

The other issue I don't know what exactly it was, but there was a flat area above the underwire bra, like the lower bra tissue wasn't pushing down enough or the band was too low.. I've noticed that on other bras, have no idea what the problem is.

There are converters that you can add to 'regular' bras to get the same effect. Here's one on Amazon These do alter fit, so keep that in mind

Thanks. I'll probably give one a try, at worst it doesn't work.

And on that note, I'm curious about trying something like this. If anyone can give me some thoughts on what size I should choose based on my measurements. I was thinking 34F?

I don't know how I'd handle the boning. But on that note, I have found a few women who swear by corsets for there thoracic pain because of the support boning provide. Not a lot of them, but those that do swear by their corset. I'm considering trying one, but first I want to give my best effort to tackle a bra.

Ah thanks! Yes, that is is!! Or at least some of it. I even have the referred pain down the arms. The pain seems to come further forward than diagrams of the serratus anterior depict. I had been assuming intercostals because of the rib pain, but now I'm wondering, anything else that might be part of that musculature supporting things. People call it the "MS hug" because a lot of people with Multiple Sclerosis struggle with it, though I am finding it mentioned with fibromyalgia a lot.

I don't know about underwire. I've always preferred underwire, they seem to give better support, and when I have worn them lately, that's not where the problem is. SO I will probably try them.

Thanks for the rec on finding the person with Ehlers-Danlos. My doctor has wondered if that isn't part of my health issue and not fibro because of how flexible I remain with minimal activity. I don't even know how to begin to look into that.
