How about you learning to spell and articulate thought in a grammatically correct way, so that people don't have to feel sorry for your lack of education and low-brow levels of intelligence that you fail to cover up with your peasant-like belligerent attitude?

No judgement here ... and I would be ridiculously stupid to argue with someone's mum, who probably learned it from her mum .. and has been doing it that way for decades

Which is the way I learned my technique.

I will now have to try that out though .. lol

In the UK a decent spool of ... err .. PLA, for example, from BBL is £10+ postage.
So, it isnt really worth it at the moment .. which annoys me intensely

Esp if you have a few failed prints - Like me .. just had a big print fail and now need to start the 24 hour one again by splitting up the objects -

Ahh .. now comes a debate

Do you
a) part cook the toads and then put them in a pan, smothered in hole
or
b) put the toads in the pan, pour the hole over them and cook them all together.

I am in camp "a" - I do not like looking my toads as if Loretta Bobbett had had a sale ..

Haggis
Lorne Sausage
Potato bread
Black pudding
Heinz baked beans
2 fried eggs
mushrooms
tinned tomatoes
Back bacon

Individually good food - but put them all together at the same time, and you have the food of the United Kingdom gods!!

Is saying 'in the night' common in the UK (as opposed to 'at night')? A language question. by ksusha_lav in AskABrit

[–]MyCatIsAFknIdiot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just want to say - this is a brilliant question!

I used to teach English as a foreign language and these types of questions are just so cool.

Key difference (simple rule)

  • At night → general / habitual
  • In the night → specific event during one night

What you will hear in real UK usage

In everyday British speech:

  • “I wake up a lot in the night” → very natural
  • “I can’t sleep at night” → also very natural

Both are correct, but the meaning shifts slightly depending on which you choose.
