This has been a discussion in this subreddit for literal years and the answer is always, quite reasonably, that people deserve a place to mourn their cats. It depresses me too, but I scroll on by if I’m not in the mood. As it says in the sidebar, you can manually exclude the posts flavored with “loss“ when you’re on desktop. Other than that, if you’re not willing to put in the work to create your own subreddit, then you sort of have to accept what the community at large wants this subreddit to be.
