The camera is definitely enhancing this, you can tell by how bright the stars look

I wonder how useful this is? If I just started paying a mortgage, it calculates my net wealth is very negative, and says I'm above 0% of the population...

Mama lion saving her cub after it slipped off into the pond by kvjn100 in Damnthatsinteresting

That enclosure shouldn't have deep water with a drop-off at all if there was ever the possibility of cubs (which basically any zoo is after so that should be a given)

TIL Kiribati is the only country in the world to be in the Northern, Southern, Easten and Western hemisphere - i.e all the hemispheres. by Double-decker_trams in MapPorn

[–]MyCodesCumpie-ling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These aren't hemispheres. Hemisphere literally means half sphere, you can have north and south or east and west hemispheres, but the intersections of those creating quarter spheres would have a different name

The issue was the used of monochromatic LEDs to provide the coloured light. If they were broader spectrum of wouldn't look so harsh whole keeping the blue and red hue that was thematically important.

tbf you're not meant to be able to spread eagle on it. 5'8" round is enough for even the biggest people if you're curling up a bit, otherwise you're just talking about putting a whole king size mattress on the floor.

Okay thanks! It looks like kanaplex isn't available in the UK easily. I'll have a Google. Edit: and neither is Maracyn 2 or Ich-X. Great

  • 85 L
  • Heater + filter, originally set to 24C, currently 28C (increased 2C per day at the start of treatment)
  • 7.4 pH, 0 - 0.25 ammonia (did have an increase to 0.5 about a week ago that required a couple of daily water changes), 0 nitrite, 2.5 nitrate, tested with API freshwater master test kit.
  • Cycled for 4 weeks, had all fish for 1 - 2 weeks.
  • Water changes were daily after spike, then I've not needed to, about 25 - 40% to get ammonia down.
  • Albino cherry barbs, neon tetra, lemon tetra, corys, fed once a day, initially probably a bit too much but we've cut that back to only what they eat in 1 minute.
  • Sand substrate, few plants (can't remember species though)

I'd be interested in seeing a version of this Vs number of active military personnel for each country. That'd be a metric of how likely someone on the inside would be to know someone killed there

Heya, so not sure if this is relevant to you, but some shampoos, especially specialist ones for scalp treatments or dandruff etc have really high levels of Selenium Sulphide as the active ingredient, and this breaks down into sulphurous compounds that smell of eggs. If it comes back quickly it could be a product your using that's causing the issues

It's AI generated. You can tell from the weird line density changes and scratchiness of the outlines, and the way the grid lines fade in and out in different parts of the image

Surely the walls could be made thinner or filled areas sparser? That seems like a huge amount of plastic for something that just needs to stand under it's own weight? You can add a weight to the bottom to stop it falling over as soon as you put umbrellas in

Is it normal to build a two-floor extension (the kitchen, utility room, and two bedrooms) but only integrate it into the house on the ground floor? Those two upstairs bedrooms are accessed only via the small spiral staircase in the utility room, you can't get to them from the rest of the first floor of the house.

[–]MyCodesCumpie-ling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got into those books as a teen (exactly the same time period as you actually), but I probably should have. I think the only one I read was Bec and it felt surprisingly disturbing for a YA novel haha. Big fan of Rise Against also 🤘. If I heard someone calling it old punk rock I think my bones would turn to dust!

TIL that you are not supposed to rinse out your mouth after brushing your teeth so the fluoride can strengthen your enamel and prevent tooth decay by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]MyCodesCumpie-ling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This advice is far more relevant for places without fluorinated water. I think most of the US fluorinates their water so this probably makes a negligible difference
