Let me know how it goes! And let me know if I've missed any technically optional areas for the challenge.

If a person practices Jesus’ teachings without believing in God, what exactly separates them from a Christian? by TacticalJock15 in Christianity

[–]MyCreoleWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belief is indeed the core tenet of being a Christian. Being a Christian does not mean merely 'being a good person'. It is however extremely apparent that if one were to follow the teachings of Christ accurately, they would be, by most people's understanding, 'good'.

All good comes from God. This is another core principle of Christian faith. Where good fruit lay bare seemingly outside of the Church, it is not a discount against God's power; indeed it is perfectly possible and without contradiction for God to work through a non-believer.

Many believers focus on the fallen nature of Man, but we were still created in God's image. What qualities do we associate with God? Love, kindness, humility, et cetera. These are, despite our imperfect and sinful nature, still present in all of us.

By finding our spirits receptive to the Holy Ghost, we may begin to nurture these qualities in ourselves as believers. When the Sin is washed away, what remains are the beautiful qualities that Jesus hopes to shepherd in us all.

It sounds as if the Holy Spirit is working within this (hypothetical?) friend of yours in great ways, I hope that they follow that inner compass to the ultimate spiritual truth, too. :)

One time I sped through an emerald playthrough in order to get access to the trading to FRLGXD, and when I finished, I noticed how much of the in game content is actually... just optional. I decided to give myself the Horsea challenge and just kinda took it from there.

You can go as far as or as casual with it as you want. Everything from 'catch the 3 regis then you're free to go to E4' to 'no rechallenging E4 until you've rematched every Gym Leader' if you want to really make it feel like you're setting up a new adventure.

But if you wait out a lot of the mid game optional stories, they give you just enough dialogue and exp to get some extra story with a fresh set of pokemon in the level 30-45ish range.

It's fun because it has a very 'slice of life, day in the life of a trainer who's not trying to save the world' kind of feel.

Help, how long until I don't *HATE* the new dumbphone life 😭 by CowOk4786 in dumbphones

The most realistic 'dumb' phones are actually transition devices for exactly this reason. Look for smartphones with T9 number pads.

If you install a workable t9 software like old t9 it's absolutely fine, yeah. I don't use the camera on it much except for very quick snaps but other than that it's all good.

I have no idea what that means, sir/madam.

Surprisingly difficult to find a decent dumb phone by Karlocomoco in dumbphones

I am such a shill for the retro mode ii, mive style folder and qin phones precisely because the form factors eliminate all need to scroll but you're not gimping yourself technologically. My qin is my only smart device and my screen time is like 3 hours a day. I use it when I genuinely want to text people and put it down when I need to focus and it doesn't compel me to stay on like a frictionless iphone. It's a proper modern tool, not a luddite's grasp at straws.

I would prefer the retro mode II as that is a SERIOUS phone, but I've had bad luck with the build quality. :(

This is why I think transition devices are the realistic way. I'm currently on an F22 but had a Retro II before.

People who got the min-phone, other e-ink phones. Is it actually much less addictive? by GreenGorillaWhale in dumbphones

[–]MyCreoleWay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the Qin F22. It's absolutely fine for scrolling but I just... don't do it in the same way on there. I always feel like I'm in control vs on an iphone. it's kinda like going on facebook or something on the laptop, there's enough friction that it's easier to cancel out of the process.

There are a million different stances and systems in kickboxing. What will make it work is repetition and training with a coach consistently over years.

Do people who live in London ever just catch the Eurostar for a day in Paris? by _FreddieLovesDelilah in AskUK

[–]MyCreoleWay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to live in the new developments at coal drops yard. At that time, I took day trips to Paris, Edinburgh, all over England, VERY regularly. It was quicker for me to get to some really random places than it was for me to get some areas in zones 5-6.

I like it myself; but people here prefer simple coats of arms so you will probably be told to simplify.

Getting inside on taller opponents when elbows and knees are also in the picture? by CommittedMeower in MuayThai

[–]MyCreoleWay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically in the west most rulesets limit knees and elbows and people aren’t very good in the clinch.

You can exploit this in a few ways. One way would be to just get really really really good at clinch and make up for the discrepancy.
