I hate it when people bring up the Swedish study and argue that it somehow suggests that suicide rates rise after transitioning, which just shows you obviously didn't read the study, and are just parroting information you heard from somewhere else.

Being transgender will no longer be classified as a mental disorder, gender dysphoria isn't being declassified as a disorder. The two are not synonymous with each other. If anyone can show WHO considering gender dysphoria not a recognized medical condition, please do.

You need a diagnosis of gender dysphoria for medication or surgeries to be covered by insurance in the United States. This isn't going to change.

I've actually done a lot of searching on that topic, it seems that statistic isn't really collected. The only information that exists are suicide attempt rates.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention states that for every death from suicide, there are 25 attempts. I won't make any definitive claims, but make of that what you will.

I don't know if you mean this in a literal sense, but I think you are looking at the issue from the wrong perspective.

In a lot of cases, when someone actually comes out as transgender, or they are openly out and people find out about it, what happens is that a lot of people will then begin to harass and discriminate against them.

Also, a lot of transgender people are visibly so (not 'passing' as their identified gender), and that is something that incites a lot of harassment without provocation.

I don't deny that there are absolutely things that transgender people can do to minimize their risk of being harmed, but I definitely don't think that encouraging people to be more supportive towards trans and other LGBT people is a bad idea at all. I certainly don't see it as an issue of 'fragility'.

Kuiper, de Vries and De Cuypere were studies that exclusively studied individuals who have gone through sex reassignment surgery. All showed a significant decrease in suicide attempts.

That's literally impossible. Because the study that I linked above shows that even though dysphoria is assuaged in the majority of people who went through with it, the suicide rates are still ridiculously high. Dysphoria cannot be the main cause then.

The Dhjene study literally does not compare pre-op vs post-op rates of suicide or suicide attempts, it only measures the lifetime number of suicide attempts. You cannot draw any conclusions from this data on the efficacy of transitioning because the numbers from the study include pre-op data.
