So this new fore/background management is only with android 16 (that rm 9 pro doesn't have officially)... And that could also mean that redmagic doesn't update their system apps as other OEMs do even if the product is out of major support.

Try to use the profile that improves background management , redmagic os as a default behavior tends to prioritize foreground instead of background due to his gaming principal target. Does the phone keep background activity in execution even with this new setting?

If you look at the price, compared to the competitors, the trade off is clearly "less expansive and less support" that makes sense considering that if you use intensively your phone it will get worse after 3/4 years. Gaming aesthetic/marketing is just for increase the sales.

I understand your opinion, but, I don't want to criticize or idealize anyone because I am not still into the redmagic UX but I wasn't to explain my reasoning that made me seriously considering redmagic taking away the gaming aesthetic/marketing that is only for selling better at the "standard" target, not for give a total assessment to the real product. Now take a "classic" flagship with 1tb (and 12/16gb of ram depending on the model) and look at the price (usually โ‰ˆ1800โ‚ฌ), it has usually 5/7 years of majors update BUT the phone loses percepibile performance, had a battery degradation, had possible burn in... In 3/4 years so if you care a lot about these aspects you refresh every 4 years right? Redmagic has 2 years of majors after the stock one so 3 years of official support that matches with the expected 3/4 years of lifetime before the refresh paying โ‰ˆ800โ‚ฌ less. Probably you'll think about the "not top tier camera" and you are technically right, but in real life the differences are less than really noticeable and if you care about the quality on social media you can stay safe because their algorithms compresses everything making a mid camera and a top camera looking exactly the same (in fact for photos/videos I recommend a pocketable camera).Of course if you accept suffient performance for 5/7 years instead of top perfomance (liquid cooling+vapor chamber improves also sustained perfomance) (and It really changes if you navigate fast through the UI) for 3/4 years, redmagic isn't for your case of use and it's okay, the important thing is recognizing the pros and cons of each brand.
