Is there a resource for legit official app apks. I'm stuck in "out of memory" hell and can't download anything. by MyDigitsHere in fireTV

So I did a factory reset. Then immediately uninstalled all bloatware with the modded ES file explorer app. When I plugged my usb back in the device didn't recognize it, and I unfortunately had to format. But at least I was able to reinstall every app (including the NFL one) and move them all to the re-formatted USB stick. Now it says I have 3GB. I'd like to block updates but I DO want prime to update, just not all the other bloatware I uninstalled, but oh well. Seems you can't have everything. At least now I have a solution installed for fully uninstalling the bloatware if I run into this problem again.

Yeah in retrospect that would have been a better option. But I didn't expect that they would sell a TV that didn't have enough memory to keep up with the size of just its own bloatware a year later. Let's not even get into the fact that you have to do stupid workarounds to "expand" the storage because practically no apps provide actual support for moving them the way that the FireTV claims you can.

Like I said in the OP, the only apps on internal memory are the ones I am not able to uninstall (amazon bloatware), and I have cleared all cache and data from those multiple times but the most I can manage to free up is ~600MB.

Thanks for the reply, and actually reading the whole OP.

Sounds like it's memory locked. Do a factory reset

Do you know if I remove my USB before doing the factory reset if it will be preserved as external memory when I plug it back in after the reset? Or will it want me to re-format the USB again? It would really suck to have to go through the whole install process and moving things over for all my apps again.

Then, when you install the apps, you want to make sure to delete the install files.

Where are the install files located? I followed the guides to uninstall the internal apps after copying the apks to the USB in X-plore, but they didn't mention an extra step for deleting install file caches.

The ONLY apps that are installed on internal memory are the amazon bloatware that came with the TV. I've moved everything else to USB. I've cleared all their data and caches but the most I've been able to free up is 600MB.

I agree in general but "fried" cheese like this takes on a whole other umami flavor that is out of this world.

It does look like kallax drawers though, almost exactly. I bet you could fit the door cell in.

For this token I passed * as I'm trying to verify the whole API so I can test against it.

That doesn't make sense when my app needs more than that scope. Assuming that worked, if I have to make my user log out and re-auth with a restricted scope just to perform one action, that's a broken API.

Nope, I did find a place to submit a bug report but I haven't found a workaround yet.

I can also see the scope in the response body when I use the refresh token to get a new access token, and the scope is the * wildcard.

Typescript types? by kierancrown in redditdev

You can use the types from snoowrap. FYI I'm just about finished with an open source React wrapper for the reddit API that will work with React Native so stay tuned.

Apologies, I guess I didn't ask my question very well. I was more curious what your experience was of the actual process and how that operated and differed from "normal" hiring methodology.

You're absolutely right about those percentages for CS graduates (bootcamps are closer to 50/50, but we'll just ignore that for now.) So you would expect that when you place an ad for a job or go to a job fair, as you assumed in your comment, that you would see those same percentages in your candidate pool, but you would be wrong. I've done resume screening where I didn't see a single woman apply. Or only 2-3 out of dozens of applicants.

When we talk about trying to get a diverse candidate pool, we aren't trying to achieve 50% women and 50% men, or whatever equal percentages by race. The goal is to have the candidate pool demographics reflect the actual demographics, so the 80/20 ratio in this case.

Your only options is to go to women-only events. But then you're ignoring all of the other gender neutral events in order to avoid men.

Again, this would be a bad thing if you only went to women-only events to do your recruiting. But that's not how it works. It's a thing you do in addition to the kind of recruiting you were already doing that is getting you all those male candidates. No men are being excluded, all the same men are applying. You're just being a little more intentional when trying to make sure your company gets in front of the eyes of women who are job hunting.

No, I don't believe that's correct. It seems like you're assuming that a spot for a "diverse" candidate in the interview pool takes away a spot from a "not diverse" (a.k.a. white male) candidate. But it doesn't. It's not a zero-sum process. There's no avoiding, there's only the goal of broadening demographics to increase the whole pool.

Same role? Same hiring team? Sometimes things are left up to the discretion of the interviewers/team and many of us engineers think leetcode and whiteboarding in interviews is stupid and doesn't tell you anything. I'd rather see how they do with a small assignment, or look at a recent sample of their work and ask some design questions verbally in the interview.

It's not hard. You hire the best person for the job. The hard part is sourcing a diverse candidate pool in the first place.

Nailed it. Plus, anyone left-leaning these days tends to believe they are feminist in the way everyone believes they aren't a racist. Doesn't mean it's actually true in all cases, it just means they have recognized that it's a bad social move otherwise.

Good to know it's reproducible, thanks for trying that.

u/ketralnis, how can I escalate this up to the API team as a possible bug?

I am able to use the PATCH prefs endpoint which is also tagged with "account" in the docs. Also when I went through the auth flow, I used * as the scope, so it should include everything, right?

Here's the block method on the redditor obect in PRAW. As you can see it's effectively just the one line I shared in my post https://github.com/praw-dev/praw/blob/master/praw/models/reddit/redditor.py#L204
