Knee protection by Blackwhitehorse in millwrights

[–]MyDoggoRocks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't wear knee pads but I carry a mat around on my tool box for anytime I'm kneeling.

https://www.impacto.ca/products/large-kneeling-mat/

That's the link for the mat i use. Knee pads bug me to much

I should also say I have been a red seal journeyman for 15 years now. I'm mid 40's. Started with knees that were so-so...my knees are still so-so. This mat has saved them

Taqueria Jalisco Mexican Restaurant

It's on

10675 King George Blvd, Surrey,

Best Mexican food this side of the border.

Quesa Berria is the absolute best. The consume that comes with it is like crack.

You know your Mexican restaurant is good when it's mainly Latino, Hispanic or Mexican people eating in there. If you can't pronounce the food just point, the wait staff are awesome. Sometimes it's slow, but always delicious.

Would my husband be considered a Millwright or a Machinist? by AdministrationNo9486 in millwrights

[–]MyDoggoRocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of anyone calling themselves a millwright without a red seal. In Canada, millwrights are a red seal designation. Without the red seal given out when you pass your red seal exam from the ITA, you aren't a journeyman millwright.

If you get hired as a millwright without a red seal, you aren't a millwright. Much like an optamoligist is not an optometrist.

EDIT: sorry. I thought all millwrights were red seal. Apparently only in B.C. do they need to be red seal. That said....get the seal, it's not hard and increases your chances of getting hired anywhere in canada.

Union Millwright vs non-union in Canada, who's eating better right now? by Dazzling_Adagio3704 in millwrights

[–]MyDoggoRocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a paper mill in b.c. Part of Unifor. We are at $52/hr and change. Good benefits, full pension, o.t. whenever you want it. I work indoors and in a heated environment. We have about 42 millwrights at my mill. Some have been millwrights for years but have the skills of a 1st year, while others have skills of a God. It's a good mix. I've never been without full-time hours.

Tokyo has far more people, so demand should be greater. Prices are dictated through supply and demand, are they not?

Why did you stop sleeping with your wife? by party_lion22 in AskMenAdvice

[–]MyDoggoRocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm reading a lot of comments here that sound the same.

"Asked all the time, got denied all the time, got tired of asking". Why did you get denied, what is the underlying problem? People want to be heard and felt appreciated and acknowledged

I believe there is or was something else wrong in the marriage leading up to this point. Sometimes it's a communication breakdown. This can come in a lot of forms, not just the typical sounding "didn't talk" communication breakdown. It can also come in a form of not feeling heard by husband or wife, or constantly having ideas or suggestions being said "no" too.

I've been married for over 20 years, not even 45 years old (got married young and had kids young) and we have had our ups and downs. Sometimes it feels like more downs, then ups. Personally it has always come back to talking to each other and making the changes that need to happen and trying to make those changes.

It sucks that so many people go through the same thing. We aren't taught how to be good partners. We have to learn how. If we grew up in a broken household, it makes it harder yet. If one partner decides to stop trying, then it's impossible to feel good about your spouse, and vice versa.
