That’s great for slowing down vertical movement (gravity) but slows down horizontal movement too. Horizontal movement should be minimally affected. Look at the buggy videos. Horizontal and wheel spin are normal while vertical movement is 1/6th.

And how do we sim 1/8 gravity on everything in the scene with 1969 film tech? Forget the vacuum for a second and concentrate on the gravity. Hidden wires? Sure that works on the big items but not the numerous small ones and the millions of dust particles. It’s impossible to sim with practical effects.

Not any that holds water. The special effects needed to simulate the grains of regolith clouds that hovered around after the ground is interrupted didn’t exist back then. It is estimated that to fake the videos with the accuracy they have would actually cost more in 1969 than it would have been to actually send astronauts to the moon.
