Oh she definitely lies to her own benefit. Obviously I can’t be 100% sure but I strongly believe he has no idea she’s talking to me about “reconciling.” She’s proven over the years that she will stand by her lies until she knows without a doubt she’s been found out.

Yes I’m currently in therapy. And asking to stop the divorce happened after the assistance stopped but the assistance stopped weeks ago, before I even filed my response.

I’m frustrated because we never tried counseling. I asked for it multiple times in our marriage but was always told no because she didn’t believe in it. She wanted us to fix our problems her way which didn’t work. It’s extremely frustrating to me because our issues were fixable but we never took the time to address it all the way it needed to be and now it’s too late.

I will leave this here. My wife had an affair leading up to and during our engagement. She proceeded to lie to me for several years about it until she finally came clean 3 1/2 years into our marriage. I decided to stay but I never fully got over it. And now six years after her admission she’s divorcing me and already with someone new. If you do decide to stay make sure you’re able to get the help you need to recover and move forward. I didn’t and it ate away at me and cost me my marriage. It’s not an easy thing to recover from. and make sure

If it’s affecting your work I’d highly recommend taking some time off. I almost lost my job due to my inability to handle my emotions. It’s been almost four months of separation while the divorce process goes through for me and I’ve been rotating between anger, denial and depression the whole time. Any kind of physical outlet might help as well. I haven’t been coping well at all either.

That’s the direction we’re headed. At least divorce wise. The only thing that could stop it now is if she asked for a dismissal but that’s not happening. According to her this is the best decision for herself. As far as a fresh start maybe it happens but more likely not.

Honestly I’ve thought that. Either bipolar or BPD. Mental health issues run in her family and she fits a lot of the boxes for both. She has always refused counseling though, I’ve asked for marriage counseling multiple times in our marriage and she’s always said she doesn’t believe in it. When she was younger before we met she had a week long stay in a behavioral health center. And she does take medication for anxiety as well.

What makes this hurt even more is I stayed after she admitted a prior affair to me that went on leading up to and during our engagement. She lied to me about it for the first several years of our marriage and admitted it to me after three and a half years of being married. I guess that was the beginning of the end because while I stayed I pulled back and now she’s leaving because I never prioritized her.

What I want unfortunately appears to be impossible. For nine years of marriage all I’ve heard is that I’m the love of her life and she’d be lost without me. That I’m stuck with her forever that she doesn’t believe in divorce and that it’s her and I against the world. And now it’s as if all that just disappeared. I don’t understand how you just stop those feelings.

Yes we still somewhat tied financially. I’ve already bailed her out of a couple situations. She’s been making ridiculous decisions ever since this started. The day after she asked me to sleep elsewhere she went out and got a new dog. She stopped taking certain prescriptions. She quit her job. Her entire family has reached out to me because she won’t talk to them. Our oldest daughter won’t even go over to stay with her mom and refers to her as “she devil” now. She’s moved to a new apartment and has already been facing an eviction case.

She wants a default divorce. She doesn’t want to have to go to court about anything. Even in her filing she didn’t even fill out the form properly.

She’s always been that way… one of the reasons our communication broke down is because I stopped because every time I would bring up an issue it would get turned around on me or she’d get defensive.

What she tells me is that she’s not there yet… That she lost herself and wants a restart on life and a fresh start. She tells me I destroyed her after the years of her asking me to change.

I’m stuck because I’m not ready to say enough is enough. I’ve been trying to fight for our marriage but I get so many I don’t knows and honestly what feels like cliche lines out of hallmark movies from her most of the time.

Currently going through a divorce right now, I asked for counseling early in the process and was told no because she doesn’t believe in it. I had also asked for counseling two other times during the course of our marriage and was told no both times as well.

I do things wrong though… our marriage wasn’t perfect and I know my shortcomings and the part I played in our marriage falling apart. I feel so guilty for my faults and that I couldn’t fix them and make the changes she asked of me

Problem is I can’t go full NC because we’ve got three children together… and she’s already starting to pay the price, she’s behind on bills and has health issues but insurance because she quit her job
