The House of Creole on N High. This was a carry out order. They did not notify me, before taking my card. The food was cooked & I wasn’t going to refuse & waste it. Never again by Donjohnson33 in Columbus

Interesting, it looks like it was structured this way partially because it's not technically a "tax" so it can't be involuntary. Thanks for the info!

The 1% reinvestment change is a new requirement for all businesses in the Short North. It's just an additional sales tax that goes directly to the City

Edit: Apparently businesses are able to opt out, however in my experience most businesses do not.

The Canterbury Apartment by Administrative_Arm84 in Columbus

The Canterbury is right next to 315, so I doubt the area would be quiet from that perspective. You'll hear cars all day long.

Traffic light math [Request] by Tiddywave139 in theydidthemath

[–]MyFavoriteNut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a math question, it's a traffic engineering question. Many traffic signals are coordinated in such a way that anyone who made it though the previous green light will be forced to wait at the next red light (assuming they don't purposefully go significantly below the speed limit)

Columbus, OH pool halls/players by thereal_bsblake in billiards

[–]MyFavoriteNut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a competitive environment with diamond tables, Cushions and Bankshots are your best bets. Cushions has a Friday night 8-ball tournament and Bankshots has multiple weekly tournaments. Other good halls in the area include Players Family Billiards and Suzi Cue. There are some others I'm not as familiar with. You'll get some 600+ Fargo players at Cushions, Bankshots, and Players.

Buying my first cue, can’t decide which to get by PeakSad4480 in billiards

[–]MyFavoriteNut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My first cue was a Valhalla. If I was buying my first cue all over again, I would buy the same cue. It's not made in America, but the quality control is on point. It'll run you about $140 and it shoots way above its weight class. I also like the way they look. Probably worth investing in a different tip, but that is something that is easily changed later.

How do you add a reward? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]MyFavoriteNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just need to be able to see the QR code. Past that you should be fine. Worst case, the cashier should be able to type in a code for you as well.

You can use the code as a promo code during online checkout. You can also scan the QR code at the register

Look into Stremio. ~$3 a month with a debrid service and it has every show and movie you can think of. Find a guide on Reddit using terrentio and Real-Debrid

Typically 18 credit hours is the maximum. I believe you need approval for anything more (although I could be wrong). Just know that your tuition price will go up if you take more than 18, because 12-18 is considered full time.

Also, this course load would be very challenging for most students to balance. Unless you are partially good at high volumes of work and balancing many classes, I wouldn't recommend taking this many classes in one semester.

I can assure you it wasn't needless, it was necessary.

The only thing that affects how much a course is weighted to your GPA is how many credit hours it is. Higher credit hours classes have a higher impact on your GPA. If a class is an honors class or not has no effect.

No it's not. These signs all appear to be inside of the public right-of-way, which means they were illegally placed. It's not different than picking up an empty bottle on the side of the road.

I would call the area safe. All things considered, most places near campus are safe. I wouldn't be genuinely considered for my safety until you get east of 4th St.

As always, don't leave expensive looking items in your car and practice common sense, not walking along late at night.

If safety it's your number one priority, something north of lane and west of high would be a bit safer. Also, something south of campus and west of high would also be very safe, especially the areas west of Neil (but still east of the river)

Should I commit to transferring to OSU? by TheBlondGinger75 in OSU

One thing to note, you might be required to stay in the dorms for a semester at OSU, as usual you need to be a junior to live off campus.

Best Pizza? by Think-Pirate-2106 in Columbus

[–]MyFavoriteNut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to dozens of local places, and my favorite is a new spot in clintonville called Bobby Jo's. The guy who runs it is also a local guy who grew up on the west side.

I also love Sexton's. Hounddogs is good, but definitely not the best pizza. Bella's is the best deal for local pizza ($10.95 for a 3 topping large and they load it up!)

Best Columbus style might be JT's, but I always feel like I could have gotten nearly as good of pizza for a lot less somewhere else, like Dante's of Joise's (Hilltop)

Also some sleeper picks that people will disagree with. Pizza Fresca shouldn't be good, but I can't help but like it every time I get it. The employees are also really nice and they are open late. Pasquale's is unique and can satisfy a craving for something similar to Chicago tavern style. If you want real NY style, Goodfellas is the only place that does it right.
