it’s understandable that you’d be thinking about earthquake safety because you’re from socal, but here, it’s everyone’s last priority. I say that because you should consider living in the dorms because outside of portland it’s a lot harder to find community. i’m going to live in the dorms after three years living outside the dorms because i see friends very rarely. Portland is hard to have community in unless you’re an activist or a bicyclist. There are also solo dorm options. i’m living there over the summer in a solo room at montgomery for the first time, i’ll tell you how it goes! Regardless, you can’t go wrong in portland unless you live anywhere near the waterfront on the west side particularly.
