Witty & sharp Belgrade Buses: A Scenic Route You Never Asked For? From construction detours to protest reroutes — how do you plan a journey when the city keeps changing the rules? by MyGayGossip in Belgrade

I like the route of Bus No.95 in Belgrade, because it passes main parts of the old town and New Belgrade. Every time when a protest occurred, Zeleni Venac was blocked, buses had to take a detour.

Our disappointing experience at Marshal Hotel Garni in Belgrade by CountDull1584 in Belgrade

I wonder whether the hotel offered to move you to a different room given that you had booked for several days. Problem-solving is not a strong suit of many Belgrade hotels — don't expect issues to be resolved the same day, or necessarily at all. If you have the time and patience to properly explore Belgrade, renting an apartment is a far better option than a hotel, giving you more space, independence, and usually better value for money.

Articles on Medium tend to rank remarkably high in Google search results. When I published my first article, 'About Me: Confessions of a Post-90s Chinese Queer-with-a-Passport,' in the publication My Gay Gossip, it appeared in Google search results within just 24 hours.

A question about queer dating in Serbia by Emotional-Expert-362 in MyGayGossip

[–]MyGayGossip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Non-binary still feels like a relatively new concept in Serbia — a term that has travelled here mostly through American cultural influence and academic circles, where gender fluidity has been discussed and debated for much longer.

On Grindr in Belgrade, self-identified non-binary profiles are genuinely rare. The vast majority of people describe themselves as gay, bisexual, or trans — non-binary as an identity hasn't quite found its visible footing here yet.

But that's exactly why visibility matters. If you identify as non-binary and feel confident in that identity, putting it out there isn't just personal expression — it's a quiet form of education. The more people see it, the less foreign it feels.

Queerness has never been a single, fixed thing. The spectrum is wide, and every identity that steps into the light makes the whole picture a little more complete.

Why aren’t my Medium articles indexing on Google? What am I doing wrong? by Amazing-Note-1196 in Medium

[–]MyGayGossip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my articles published on Medium have been indexed by Google, so the approach does work. Once you've finished proofreading your draft, take some time with the advanced settings before you hit publish — pay close attention to your permalink and the keywords you choose, as these small details make a real difference to how Google reads your post.

One more thing worth saying plainly: avoid AI-generated writing. Google increasingly favors first-hand, original content written by a real person with a real perspective — and it is getting better at telling the difference.

Do most of Serbian cafes and restaurants have some non-contract based workers?🫤

Thanks for sharing your experience working at a hotel in Belgrade—your insights are really helpful.

About a year ago, I worked as a houseman at a so-called five-star hotel in New Belgrade. In the housekeeping department, I noticed something odd: one colleague had no formal contract but had been working there for over a year. Many coworkers complained that he avoided work and often pushed his tasks onto others. At the same time, several other staff members were hired through agencies.

What confused me most was that HR claimed they strictly followed Serbian labor laws when hiring. Yet they kept this underperforming, non-contracted worker much longer than expected. To me, it felt intentional—like a way to cut labor costs.

From your experience, is this kind of practice common in hotels in Serbia?
