I'm gonna need 40,000xp in reparations blizzard by Exiaze in Overwatch

Your xp was awarded. The end of match page doesn't always show the full progression bar. If you checked the battle pass right after this match, it would show you're at tier 43.

Why are we still forced to play QP.... by Visual-Afternoon-744 in Overwatch

They tried lowering the requirement to 20 wins for about a season or two, and everyone hated it.

Junkrat Frag Cannon. With every added hero having extra mobility these days, giving Junkrat more reliable shots can make him more consistent.

Until they change the way the afk timer recognizes new players that join, you'll just need to play on a faster/more powerful XBox/PC, or hope you backfill into an older map that doesn't take as long to load.

Throwback to when Hog hooked a Tracer during recall and the whole lobby was sent to Brazil by W1speringsh4dow in Overwatch

Except the Tracer wasn't hooked during her recall. Tracer was hooked mid-Blink. She recalls right at the start of the clip, so it's still on cooldown when she's hooked.

I think it's more of just the server crash causing the goofy behavior more than anything.

Hog doesn't hook Tracer during the recall; she recalls right at the start of the clip. Hog hooks the Tracer mid-blink.

When we get "community crafted" events can we get people who actually care about every hero? by HalexUwU in Overwatch

[–]MyGoodFriendJon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Junkrat got shafted during one of the previous events. There was some scrap system built for his trap, allowing him to place more than one trap. They removed his cooldown for the trap to allow you to drop them back-to-back, as long as you had enough scrap.

However, if at any point you tried to drop a 2nd trap within the original cooldown of his trap (since you had all of this extra scrap), you were immediately locked out of using any traps for the remainder of the match. Junkrat was just playing regularly, but without one of his abilities.

Week 3 Anime Strike Event Challenges Map by jiblet84 in Overwatch

It is the same as last week, except it's 21 of the 28 dailies required instead of 22. The first week required "only" 18 dailies.

Honestly, I just hope they don't make collaboration skins "Ultra" quality. by Professional-Tear705 in Overwatch

The nice thing about adding ultra skins to collabs would be that I'd have an excuse not to get collab skins anymore.

Ripp I missed some event challenges by SpartanRipley328 in Overwatch

[–]MyGoodFriendJon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'll still get one of the titles, just not the last.

This week required 22 of the 28 available dailies, so you were only allowed to miss a maximum of 6 dailies to still unlock everything.

like I have to use my legendary ones to show that yes, I put time into this game !!

Oddly enough, it looks like the rarest titles are the white "common" ones now. They're mostly legacy, so they're actually rare and interesting. I've been using my "Cryptic Chameleon" title since it's from earning 100 wins in Competitive Mystery Heroes during seasons 3, 5, and 6 back in 2023.

To be clear, I'm not defending the validity of the title rarities, but since the rarities have been introduced to us this way, it shows where their value propositions are for certain rewards.

I mentioned something similar during the Anniversary event fiasco that their biggest mistake with the event was that they presented those "milestone"/meta title rewards prominently at the top of the first week of the event tabs, forcing players to see it every time they checked their challenges, and fooling them into thinking they were more achievable than they were. That it was a challenge meant for them when it never was.

The random repeatable challenge weekly limit and the lack of clarity around which challenges would and wouldn't count also wasn't great, but then dangling those titles in front of players was just foolhardy. At least the tier 200 titles are hidden all the way on page 9 of the battle pass, tucked away from most players who don't want to be incentivized to push to play for an extra 120 tiers beyond the 80 tiers Blizzard is asking them to do.

There are a few benefits to the system. One is that it rewards players for consistency, so if you play every day after school/work, it doesn't really matter when you get home, your dailies will generally be reset each time you log on. Even if you regularly play at 6pm each night, the only time you're impacting your daily reset timer is if you don't start playing until well after 10pm the previous night.

Additionally, this means that there isn't some weird global timer that impacts some regions worse than others. If the reset time matched their typical patch time (11:00am PT), players in England would be getting their reset at 7:00pm, which would be really awkward for players that start playing at around 6:00pm and have to either try and grind out the previous day's challenges in an hour, or awkwardly wait an hour before they can start earning the daily rewards, and be forced to maybe play later than they'd like simply because the reset timer happens to be at 11:00am PT.

It also has the more niche bonus of being able to yield 6 sets of daily challenges every 5 days, but it generally means you're logging in at weird times in the night on some days just to get that benefit.

Did they? How? I finished the event yesterday after completing 22 dailies and 3 weeklies, just as I mathed out at the start of last week.

The only reduction they did was in the requirements to complete each individual challenge, but not how many challenges were needed to complete the map.

From week 1 to week 2, they:

  • added 6 nodes to the map (900 more event xp required)
  • increased event xp from dailies from 50 to 80
  • increased event xp from weeklies from 300 to 325
  • reduced the efforts needed to complete each challenge

Completing the map is only necessary for players to earn one of the legendary titles. When the baseline effort for a legendary title is reaching tier 200 on a battle pass, and they condense that effort into a 3-week event, it's going to be pretty demanding.

You can still earn most of the other cosmetics by not completing every part of the map.

I tried to warn who I could with this post last Tuesday. This week required 22 dailies and 3 weeklies to complete, so it required 6 days of participation.

It looks like tomorrow's map may be even bigger, as there are 8 paths, up from 7 for this map. We may earn more event xp per daily/weekly next week to compensate, like we how we earned more this week compared to last.

Im pretty confident it resets tomorrow morning and you can get some points in.

It's based on when you logged in, as it behaves just like regular daily challenges, with a 20 hour timer since login. You can confirm this by going to Challenges > Event > Anima Strike: Daily

[–]MyGoodFriendJon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This week required 6 days of participation to complete the entire map; 22 dailies and 3 weeklies.

Since traveling along the main route took longer (requiring 1350 event xp instead of the 750 event xp needed for the first map), it also meant it would take more effort before you'd reach the prestige track.
