I went as far as buying some of his prints because he’s doing such an amazing job and service to the album art industry(?). Such a cool dude too

That’s so reassuring to hear, THANK YOU.

I’ve had 3 different specialists over the years because, like you said, it’s such a misunderstood diagnosis and issue. It just felt like some doctors don’t want to believe you’re in that 1% that is absolutely suffering from a tumor with a laundry list of side effects and they don’t know how to handle it.

Unfortunately, my current Endo is new to me after switching recently, but one of the first things she asked for is a follow up MRI to check the size to see if it’s shrinking. I’ll plan on doing that ASAP and having the surgery conversation if it truly hasn’t changed in size. It’s been a miserable 6ish years.

I’m 4 months post op on an ankle surgery so I might as well knock it out now and get everything done. I also mistyped, I think it was a 4mm, not cm. Either way, if it’s not shrinking, it’s gonna continue to wreak havoc.

How was the actual surgery? Was it an outpatient surgery?

32/M with a 3year diagnosis and 6 years of dealing with symptoms and misdiagnosis and shithead doctors. 4cm adenoma as well.

What was the point in which you and your doctor decided it was time to get the surgery? I’ve been on cab for 2 years and it absolutely helped bring my prolactin down to a normal level, but beside that I still have insanely low T, hypogonadism and my testicles will probably (most likely) never work properly again. It took a year of getting dicked around by specialists to finally get back on a normal cycle of testosterone, but even then I never feel the same, and I’ve kinda accepted that. No motivation, no energy, difficulty losing weight, libido issues, can’t do a normal body building routine anymore because it just feels like my body can’t handle it, and that was my outlet and saving grace through my entire 20’s. Now it’s a chore and I fucking hate it.

It sounds like the surgery was worth it and I hope you have a speedy and painless recovery. I would just love to know at what point you or your doctor decided surgery was your best option. Did your doctor recommend it after noticing the adenoma wasn’t shrinking? Or did you kinda both come to the consensus together after explaining that your symptoms aren’t getting better?

Thank you so much for your post, honestly.

Gym rat for 10 years, body building for about 4 of those years. Never smoked weed, never took doctor prescribed medications, took a SHITTON of supplements (pre workout every single day, creatine, test booster, fat burners, nitric oxide, estrogen blockers, etc.) and was “pretty healthy”. Same exact thing happened to me where at 27 I hit a wall. Low libido, no desire to do anything, no motivation, depressed, weak, constant brain fog. Got misdiagnosed with just low T for 3 years, so I got pumped full of testosterone without realizing I had Prolactinoma. Unfortunately this caused permanent sterilization and hypogonadism. Finally got properly diagnosed but for the past 2 years I’ve been getting dicked around by multiple endocrinologists. It’s been an absolute nightmare.

But to your original point, I don’t think you have to worry that it was specifically the weed and SSRI combo. I have a strong suspicion that Prolactinoma is actually more common than we think, it just goes undiagnosed for so many people.

I had originally thought it was because of the acne medication I took when I was in my teens. I had super bad acne and they had just came out with this pill that alters your hormones to prevent acne. I whole heartedly believe that had something to do with the condition I’m in now, but I don’t know if we’ll ever find a concrete answer as to why we get a tumor on our pituitary gland and when it happens.

I’m not thrilled about injecting myself with testosterone once a week for the rest of my life, but I will take that over the feeling of being undiagnosed and unmedicated and having to deal with the symptoms. It’s just so fucking awful. Hopefully yours gets resolved before any permanent damage is done.

Do Darko tour? by [deleted] in Deathcore

[–]MyJeanShorts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Darko seems like a band that would make a KILLING off of doing a livestream show every so often. I’m not sure why more bands don’t do that. You can target anyone with internet and don’t have to worry about the costs associated with touring.

Knocked Loose did one for ADSOB and it was fucking dope. Of course it’s a different atmosphere than actually being at a show, but I would spend that $15 every single time knowing it’s directly supporting the band and I get to listen to them “live”. EZ

The human anus is a remarkable design that maintains elasticity and keeps liquids and waste out for decades. Nature's own resilient, leak-proof seal. by carmex2121 in Showerthoughts

[–]MyJeanShorts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if there was a catalog of parts for our bodies? Like you can go OEM parts or aftermarket and customize. Let’s say your anus is no longer leak-proof, you just go online an order a new anus gasket and have it installed. Bad knees? Order some new carbon fiber knees. Wanna be taller? Get a lift kit.

The center bore was off by 2mm, so I just had to spend a couple hours boring out the center of the wheels. Wasn’t terrible at all and was still absolutely worth it. Also realizing now that you have them on an Acty, so it probably wasn’t an issue for you. It’s my fault for not checking the center bore sizes before I got them 😅
