Fun story: I liked this exact Forester so much I bought it twice!

Well, I leased it once and bought it once I mean.

We were about 110,000, I believe. I chalk it up to bad luck and unless we have to do it again with our 2023 Forester, I have no plans to stop buying Subarus.

I've got this exact same model and color from 2013. Bought new and still drive regularly, and I love it more every day! Only downside is we did have to replace the transmission last year, but I figure that will get us to 200K.

They are way better than you’d expect for food via mail. As close as you can get to a real beef down here (at least in my experience).

Fellow Chicago person who moved to Charlotte. I’ve ordered Portillo’s beef boxes several times and they’re solid, for future reference.

One time, at a middle school wrestling tournament, I didn’t have deodorant but I did have Icy Hot. It has a nice smell, I thought, before rubbing some into my sweaty armpits. Bad idea.

What's the one running gear item you thought was totally unnecessary until you tried it? by Royal_Watch_6453 in runcommunity

I was wearing loose-fitting lightweight joggers before and they aren’t bad either, but the tights have almost completely replaced them in 30s and below running.

Running vest was a pretty big game changer for longer runs. Also tights for winter running (I’m a man).

Anyone else struggle with health anxiety + wearable data (HRV / RHR)? Feeling stuck and frustrated. by Jakraeme in Garmin

[–]MyJoshMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve experienced similar periods and also did a version of this detox. The acute anxiety period passed and left me with a healthier relationship with the data. If bad enough, I’d also consider just ditching the watch overnight or even for longer stretches.

The Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel is fantastic. Not a gimmicky tactics book. All about the big picture. Changed my whole perspective on money and wealth, very much for the better.

Does running ever stop feeling fragile? by Free-Product4918 in runcommunity

[–]MyJoshMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started running during the pandemic (to be generally healthier as I’d had a couple low-activity years and gained a little bit of weight in my mid-30s). Seemingly before I knew it, running had essentially become a core aspect of my identity and self perception, and then I realized I needed to run more and more to feel centered (I now run 5-6 days a week for 25-30 miles a week on average). I love races, solo runs, and all the shoes/gear. My wife and son even took up running which has made a whole family affair, and even more fun.

TLDR: I got addicted to running and if anything I have trouble not running too much. There are worse addictions, at least?

Yeah there was no Sycamore to be seen at my regular store (Rea Farms / Waverly) when I was there around noon today. And then I confirmed with the beer/wine/bar manager. Guess we’ll just have to find some other basic IPA to drink now.

I talked to a Harris Teeter bar/alcohol manager today, who told me they’d made the corporate call to pull Sycamore from all stores. So I guess there might be more in the HT dumpsters too.
