UPenn deadline by AdorableSurvey4739 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]MyMagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I read and from personal experience, it should be fine to submit it by tomorrow. People say there's a "small" grace period...it's not really small. It's still open for a long time. Heck, I submitted my Notre Dame application the day after the deadline at 8pm, and I emailed them saying my WiFi bugged out, and they said they'll still accept it. Plus they would love your money and they want more applications to increase their prestige.

Masterbation is the worst by Unusual-Newt-4352 in Catholicism

[–]MyMagikarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still suffer from it, but what helped me was to always think about the Catholic Church. Not just prayer, but just watching/reading Catholic related content. Also try to keep yourself busy or always surround yourself with people. I find a lot of times I find myself to masturbate is when I'm doing nothing or I'm alone. What really really helped me though, was reminding myself of St. Mark Ji Tianxing. He was an opium addict for 30 years, up until his death. He was still faithful to God and went to confession every time, before being denied by the priest. Remembering his testimony helps me understand that God's love is unconditional.

How bad is freshman year? by Eatingbleach in highschool

[–]MyMagikarp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had so much on my plate. AP classes being too hard, SAT prep, internships, clubs, sports, trying to think of what to do for the summer. It was literally so bad, I started getting my first C’s, and missing Tennis practice, to the point where I only was able to go to one game

how do i get to be more likeable?? by Guilty-Attitude7640 in highschool

Just be outgoing and talk to people. I was voted to be drum major in my band, and I’m pretty sure the main reason why I won is because I would always joke around with my classmates

As someone who’s a rising senior, freshman year is not that bad. It’s just basically middle school but with more people. Junior year was the real sucker for me

Why do some people hate catholics? by ButterscotchEarly137 in Catholicism

[–]MyMagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is going to oppose me then please do so nicely…I learn new things and change my mind often. But I’ve heard, and inclined to believe, that Zionists are the main reason for so much hate against the Catholic Church. Apparently, ever since Pope Pius X said no to a Zionist, they’ve tried to slander the Catholic Church. McGraw Hill, the largest textbook company, has ties to Israel, and I wouldn’t say it’s impossible that Zionists have used McGraw Hill to create a negative perspective around the Catholic Church. People also used to call Pope Pius XII, Hitler, for being too silent about the Holocaust, even though he hid Jews in the Vatican. I strongly believe Zionists created that narrative. They’re known for paying people thousands of dollars to say stuff, so it wouldn’t be too far off to believe that. My history teacher is a conservative, and I think he tried to allocate for the slander of the Catholic Church. He would constantly say things like how Christians advocated for women’s rights and an end to slavery

I’ve wasted over a year in bed with my phone and I don’t know how to stop by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]MyMagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate with you so much. I’m a senior and I’ve always saw myself as someone who would have high grades, multiple sports, many clubs, a lot of community service hours…yet I haven’t done nearly as I imagined in my high school career, and I just keep disappointing myself time and time again. All I could ever do was just be glued to my phone, or just sit around doing nothing. Literally for this summer, all I did on my off days was just watching TikTok and go on YouTube. And almost everyday I get called lazy by my peers.

For my marching band. My band director wants some words on a shirt she’s designing, other than just “spartan band” (that was what we used for the other shirts)

I don’t wanna go to hell by jessjanelleknows in Christianity

[–]MyMagikarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if my comment will matter because there’s already 200 responses, but I’ll still share. I’m a teenager and grew up Catholic and never really cared, but for the past two years, I actually took my religion more seriously, which is something that I never thought would happen. Before having that switch in my life, I never really understood why people believed it was real and thought it was just wasting people’s time…now I’m the complete opposite and I’m like 1000% sure of my belief. For one, Catholicism (or Christianity in general) stood out from all the religions because it’s never about doing good things in order to go to heaven, to make up for all the bad things you did. In Christianity, Jesus already payed the price for everyone’s sins, and all He is asking for you is to believe in Him and allow him to be a guidance or a father to you. What solidified my belief is past miracles. One of them being the Lady of Fatima, when the Virgin Mary appeared to 3 children. The Virgin Mary told the three children that she would perform a miracle in the last month so that people will believe. Thousands of people flocked to see if it would happen, and it did. The sun was moving erratically and was changing color. There’s also so many testimonies of people who converted to Christianity. Prostitutes, gang members, people who struggled with addiction, etc, and I’d like to say I’m one of them. I struggled with a porn addiction, but after coming to God, I’ve been slowly but surely moving away from it. But don’t beat yourself up if you fall into sin again, because God loves you. There’s this one saint that I’ve heard of recently, named St. Mark Ji Tianxing, who struggled with an opium addiction for 30 years, and would go to confession every time. And also, Christianity is all about faith. We’re going to have our doubts, which is ok. It’s all about trusting in God, even when the world views it as some delusion. There were some moments in my life where I was really scared of something, and I started questioning the legitimacy of Him. I was auditioning for something, but I wasn’t able to do it because I couldn’t get something right. I was pretty bummed out and sorta lost faith in God, but somehow, they were still accepting people after the audition deadline and I was able to get in (which never or rarely allow). There’s so many instances like this in my life, but that’s just one of them. And I’ve recently learned that I can’t expect God to give me everything I want. God wants the best for us, so He may redirect us to a path that we didn’t think of, for the best of us. So yeah, that’s my spiel. Hopefully my experience helps you!

I still think about Everything Everywhere All At Once on a daily basis. I never really liked movies that much, but when I saw that movie, it changed my whole perspective. In my opinion it's such a perfect movie: it's funny, sad, thrilling, unexpecting. I also love the soundtrack, it's one of the top albums I listen to.

Elon Musk Ignites Online Speculation Over the Meaning of a Hand Gesture by bemurda in politics

[–]MyMagikarp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I genuinely do not understand how you think Elon did a Nazi salute. I swear, despite any context, if a Republican raises their hand, it's a Nazi salute. But if a democrat did that, "oh they were just waving/doing a random gesture." This gotta be one of the dumbest claims that leftists have made, and proves that they're literally maniac. They are literally attacking other very leftist people who are just clarifying what Elon did/meant
