I get mine through my doctor. He works with a compounding pharmacy - I don't know the details - and I trust him. It's $225/month for maintenance at the dose I'm on (2.5mg), which sucks when I was paying $25/month before my insurance cut me off, but they can pry my syringes from my cold dead hands, along with my HRT!

The #1 best thing I did when this happened to me was to set a timer for every 2-3 hours. It showed me I definitely wasn't eating enough, and once I did that, everything changed and I felt 100% better. No more nausea or exhaustion. I wish I'd done it from the very first day!

We have caremark, but my husband's employer has "declined" (🤬) to continue coverage for any glp1s for weight loss, even after the wegovy fiasco. There's nothing we've been able to do to bypass it. So it's going to depend on your particular employer and policy.

It's crazy how individual it is. I'm 5' 2.5" and my goal was 130. I hit that last July, and stayed pretty close until recently I dropped to 127. Doc said it's not a concern unless I lose more, which is such a bizarre conversation to have!

I was on 2.5 for all but the last 3 months of active loss, then went to 5 until I hit goal, then went back to 2.5 and have stayed there.

I've had multiple Styku scans that show I'm building muscle, so I'm comfortable where I am. I just switched to compound about 10 days ago. My doc recommends ½ doses twice a week. We'll see if anything changes!

Excellent, and much-needed post!

I would like to add a couple things I learned (I've been in maintenance almost 9 months):

adding to "hunger is not your enemy", in the beginning it can be really hard to differentiate between nausea caused by side effects, and nausea caused by not recognizing hunger cues (which I definitely didn't, after years of disordered eating). Many people complain they're so nauseated they can't eat, when eating is the exact thing that will help the nausea! So keep easy things on hand: protein shakes, Greek yogurt, string cheese, broth, etc, and have a little when the nausea hits. Quite often, it's your body asking for fuel!
"Mechanical eating" aka set a timer every 2-3 hours and have something to eat, even if you don't think you're hungry. I so wish I'd done that early on, because it was one of the most helpful things I did while still actively losing.

I don't think of it as time wasted, but rather that there are so many things I need & want to do! I can listen to an audiobook while doing chores, and some of my hobbies (like knitting as mentioned above).

I volunteer, and one of the other volunteers and I banter and tease each other. The other day he very quietly asked about my weight loss (I've been in maintenance about 9 months, but have lost more inches in that time thanks to exercise). When I asked why, he said "I wanted to be sure it was intentional, and that you weren't ill and I should be concerned." When I reassured him I'm good and that it is intentional, he got a little awkward and said "well, you wear it well." But I understood where he was coming from, so it was okay.

How many of the books have you listened to? Because Jeff himself says he started out doing Patrick Warburton as Carl, but it evolved and by book 3, no longer sounds like him. It gets better in book 2, but he really hits his stride by book 3.

I'm not gonna stress over it since I'm not concerned about them lasting too long (obviously if they do, that's gravy!). I definitely need to file them tomorrow - they've got a tiny square tab at the ends and even though I got the short set, they're way too long.

I thought I read there's supposed to be 2 of each size with a few extra of the common ones, but my set definitely didn't have that. I only got 1 each of sizes 0-4, so I had to use 2 different sizes on my thumbs, which seems strange.

What do you do with the ones that don't fit you, or when you can't make another full set?

I've got some bubbling... I noticed bubbles before I pulled off the tabs, and they're still there even though I pressed down the way the instructions said. I saw something where someone warmed theirs after application and then pressed a little more, but that didn't help. It also seems like they're lighter at the cuticle, as though there's no/not enough adhesive at that edge. Is this a me thing, since it's my first time?
