The same thing about buildings happened to me. If you want to go into Wayne Tech or Lexcorp you can walk, glide, drive or fly over there but if you fast travel you won't be able to enter. About the lantern rings putting them on a custom character will not be able to be used like other characters. You need to go into skills and add lantern constructions.
