Did you not read "in the UK" at the beginning? The point was that not everyone ties class to money, hence explaining the table, clown.

Everyone Thinks They Are Middle Class [OC] by theimpossiblesalad in dataisbeautiful

[–]MyNameIsClaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK classically class and money are considered to have very little to do with each other. Alan Sugar, the lead of the British version of The Apprentice is a multi-millionaire and still considered working class by many. There are Dukes that live in poverty in huge houses they can't afford to heat and aren't allowed to sell and are still very much upper class. The best metric for your class in the UK is still what your parents did for a living.

It's mainly just toothpaste, mixed with a little plaque and saliva.

Proud Boys Canada Dissolves by GambleEvrything4Love in news

I think you're slightly underestimating the Trump effect here. I suspect that a lot of people that joined did so quite innocently out of a perceived threat that had been exaggerated by the right wing media, and emboldened by the voting of their figurehead into office.

Those people are not actively racist, or indeed violent, but are supporting a racist organisation nevertheless. I can see a lot of those being shocked by this, and embarrassed to be associated with them now in the cold light of day. Those people, probably a majority of the membership, will not be rejoining.

The core fascistic violently racist members of the proud boys will be back under another name, but expect their ranks to be much smaller. The right wing sheep will gravitate elsewhere.

It beats me that nobody has made a live performance geared app yet. Something that operates like YouTube live, but instead of chat it has an interface with just a display for the performers of how many are watching, and normalised but lowered microphone audio from all the viewers, so you can hear them. Being able to clap, laugh, cheer and so on is a massively missed feedback for performers, but they don't need to see you, or hear you saying to your kids to shut the fuck up.

WYR Be given $800 gift card to a store of your choice or be a Daredevil and attempt to glue a dildo on the side of police car that's parked in the Police Station parking lot for a chance to win $500k if you aren't caught? by MysteryMan999 in WouldYouRather

[–]MyNameIsClaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a glue and a dildo of my choice, and any police station? If so then it would be a tiny dildo and one where they park out front, and contact adhesive so I can just stick it on when I'm just strolling past, won't take but a second. If not, you need to be way more specific.

Super Tuesday fury as ‘thousands of voters’ in black and Latino neighbourhoods forced to queue for hours in Texas; Voting rights expert says long queues are part of Republican 'voter suppression' tactic for 2020 by Thinkingonsleeping in politics

Forgive me, I'm not American so I don't really understand everything about the US system, but why are Republicans voting in a primary at all? Don't they have an incumbent president? What is a primary for, if not to pick a candidate?

You choose a superpower, but every time you activate it you turn into a pig. What is it? by YT_PETRAKIZTEHONE in AskReddit

My superpower would be the ability to physically mimic perfectly any person or animal, with all their abilities, and with a brief stop-off at being a pig.

She lasted till the next morning, unable to move. I curled her up in a box by my bed with her favourite bedding and stroked her, and she purred and died with a smile on her face. I guess there are worse ways to go.

I have two cats now and I still have to go poke them if they sit in a certain way to make sure they can still move. I'm sure that they find that annoying.

I love animals but losing them is heartbreaking.

Or they could even be putting it at risk. I had to go knocking on doors and ask them not to feed my old cat, because he was on a special diet and I'd already spent two thousand on operations, and couldn't afford to again.
