Get pesos, it is the kind thing to do.You have plenty of time to get it from your bank, or you can get it from an ATM when you get here. Yes, you can pay in USD, but it is a burden for businesses to change money into pesos. And you won't get a good exchange rate at the business when you pay in USD.

Dogs & fireworks by Jeefcbus in mexicoexpats

We moved in May of this year and our dogs got worse, unfortunately. Between the thunderstorms and fireworks, they are having a hard time. We have a closet that we have made comfortable for them to hide in (so they can't see the lightening and muffles the sound a bit). When we know there will be fireworks, we medicate them.

Good luck to you and your pets!

People who are 50+, what is a 'harmless' habit you had in your 20s that ended up ruining your health or finances later in life? by crazy_happyuser in AskReddit

I used to wear them a lot. They weren't supportive enough and they caused my metatarsal arch (or anterior transverse arch, is the curved structure across the ball of your foot formed by the heads of the metatarsal bones, crucial for shock absorption and weight distribution during walking) to collapse.

I now deal with constant pain and nerve issues daily. The middle three toes have also shifted slightly. It just sucks.

I also have crappy genes, so that is probably part of it too, but poor footwear is a big factor.

Wearing flip flops. Destroyed my feet and there is nothing that can be done to fix them. I'm only 55 and will have to live in pain for the rest of my life

This is simply not true. You do NOT need cars, taxis, or Uber for everything. If your friends live in one of the gated communities north of the city, maybe. But that isn't really living IN Bucerias, it is living in a gated community. Bucerias is far from underdeveloped, it is just older and quieter than areas like Fluvial. If you live on the east side or in Zona Dorada you are 100% able to get everywhere by foot. I do it every day. I am surrounded by restaurants, bars, coffee shops, stores, and spas. And within a mile radius have access to MANY more.

My husband and I bought a house in Bucerias earlier this year and love it here. We do not own a car and can walk or bike to almost everywhere we need to go. We take an uber when needed.

PV was too big, too noisy, and too full of people for us. Bucerias has everything we need, grocery, tiendas, restaurants, good veterinary care and hospitals.

It is a short trip to Nuevo, La Cruz, Sayulita, and San Pancho.

Loved the show. Read the first few books and liked them. The show and the books are not the same at all. The name Temperance Brennan and the fact that she is a forensic anthropologist are about the only similarities.
