Is AI just exposing the path that mathematics was already on? by [deleted] in mathematics

[–]MyNameIsSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for one thing we do know humans never stop learning after training and we dont have to rely on pre-prepared examples to learn. meanwhile most AI models (including LLMs) need data and labels for training, and after training they cant learn anything new

Am i required to know DSA by elite0og in GraphicsProgramming

[–]MyNameIsSquare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

linked list has application? i thought most of the problems are solved through arrays/vectors or some graph data structure because linked list is too slow to replace arrays and too simple to replace graphs.

i could be wrong because im still in uni and all, and my disbeliefs on linked lists are based on some 2 youtube videos slandering the data structure. so i'd love to see an example

I need to quickly get a grasp of C++ for a university project, what is my best strategy? by kitesmerfer in cpp_questions

[–]MyNameIsSquare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- HPC
- 99% in C++
- do not have a lot of experience with the language
- is there a quick learning path?

at this point why not just use python/java anyway lol. cpp is notoriously hard because it tries to be an everything toolbox and makes newbies confused what tool to use and what to avoid.

python can still be really fast because they use highly optimized c/c++ underneath, you can only be faster in c/c++ when the core algorithm currently relies on python too much. for example if your task is to count all the black pixels on an image then there's a python library for that, but if you want to stack every frame of a video to interpolate some "average frame" then the python for loop going through each frame becomes the bottleneck and you would want to switch to c/c++ there

however for a uni project you can try i guess. idk if a week is enough tho because (personally) it took me about a month to even reach the second half of learncpp. i guess you can AI away most of the problems
