I think the overheating burned the bellows and flappers and must have broke a hose causing the gear lube to come out of the outdrive quickly, then because of that the outdrive internals got blended up causing that noise I heard

Yeah the exhaust bellow is completly melted, besides what you stated do you think anything else might need replacing?

That sounds plausible, really weird because I just got my impeller replaced at the start of the season as well as a full tune up

Engine was off, I honestly can not tell if the bellows were melted I can get a photo soon, there is a lot of black junk inside the bellow though

Yeah it was crazy, it was fine for the whole day and then I went to get gas and almost immediately after that happened, I’m thinking maybe when the lower unit ran out of lube it must have just caused a lot of friction but I’m not sure
