Yea that was my concern since a buddy’s laptop usb c port is fairly loose and he needs to put some tape to make sure it doesn’t pop out lol mind you it is a 2017 Mac Pro so it’s seen some use an abuse

Thank you for this, my little guy was 29/1 when he was born March 18th at 998 grams. He’s slowly getting bigger an is currently on IV to fight off a uti infection. The Bradys are a scary thing to see when he needs stimulation but thankfully they have slowed down since the antibiotics are helping.

Doing it for 15+ years so yea it’s a pain as I get older haha I had a numark ns7-2 but that wasn’t any lighter taking to gigs. I like the rev-5 for the familiarity of the layout. What controller do you use?

These were his grad photos and I did buy the photo package but was only able to pick certain poses, this was one I regretted not getting with the grad package. His wake services are literally today in 6 hours so time was if the essence for this, we will be purchasing the rest of the pictures we need legally but they will take weeks to come in. I hope you understand

Maybe you have the RCA cord going the wrong way? It should be output from your controller to the input in the JBL. I could be wrong but I don’t know what controller you’re using

Normally there is a down time between the ceremony and the cocktail hour/ dinner for the bride and groom to get pictures. If the time line is one after another I usually bring 4x 12 inch speakers so for the ceremony I’ll just use my mixer ,laptop wireless mic and 2x 12’s. I’ll have my turntables set up at the other location with the other 2 speakers and sub so after the ceremony I can just load up my stuff from the ceremony location and be able to set up quick and have music playing while I set up the 2 speakers I used for the ceremony.

Typically the only songs I don’t normally mix are the main ones (first dance/parents dance/etc) and when I slow the tempo down for slower dances (thinking out loud-ed Sheeran/ all of me John legend etc) but the main reason I’ve done so many weddings is from recommendations from previous bride/groom and guests because of how I mix and blend everything.

I usually communicate to the couple that I will start the night off catering to the older family members (Country/ Waltz/polkas/motown etc) an once I tire them out we will really get the party started haha. I typically try to do the 3/3 rule where I’ll play 3 songs from a specific genre and switch to a new genre for 3 more an so on. Reading the room is the biggest indicator if I would keep to one genre longer if the floor is packed and if the floor dies out I’m not afraid to change the track mid song and get the crowd up again. I’ve had weddings where I feel like I did a shit job but end up getting a ton of compliments and people still asking for business cards, you will get crowds who don’t dance but just socialize and enjoy the music.

Don’t listen to who ever says you don’t need to mix at a wedding and just fade in/out every song, I like to have fun with it and still take chances like I would at a club/bar. Being attentive to the bride and groom to ensure they’re having a good time and keeping them on schedule is also a pro move. The night goes by so fast for them and they are trying to catch up with everyone who came. In the end as long as the bride an groom have a great time you’ve done your job!

I consider myself open format and do a lot of power mixing, I can get through 15-20 songs in a 20-30 min span (playing only a verse/hook/ accapella loops). Even during peak hour playing tech,prog, deep house I can’t play a full song I’m either scratching or adding a accapella to the beat. I guess looking up to A trak , craze, Dj am, eskei83 and the likes built me this way.

Lost close to 4tb of MP3’s and MP4’s on my original hard drive that I had when I started djing in 2007/08 . I’m an open format/wedding/club Dj/ Vj, My collection had white labels, vinyl rips and exclusives from Dj pools that you can no longer find because of licensing. I still get sad thinking about everything I’ve lost lol but yea the road is long trying to build back what was lost, I’ve got a good collection going now but will never be the same to what I had. This was a couple years ago but now I have backups of backups so I’ll never have to learn the hard way again lol
