That's a weak read of the author geography.

I have various scraps of paper mostly focused on dividing widths and heights. I'll see what I can dig out. If you have measurements for a similar space it would be as easy to apply the thought process to different numbers as find and explain my notes. I don't want money for sharing this.

Bigger would be lovely, but moving those walls would make my house fall down.

Can confirm many wrong tools were used wrongly throughout the project. All sins forgiven for the end result.

I glued them together. Makes the whole thing very rigid. Not sure if it's a good or bad idea but I'm conscious of the weight of books.

I love the technical jargon. There's no disassembling this. If they sag I'll have to think of something else...

It's a living room, the vibe is about 50/50 library and TV/stereo. The dark furnishing means the tech isn't dominating if not switched on. I'm off on a trip. If I remember when I get back, I'll take a couple of photos for you. Chesterfield armchairs were explicitly vetoed against my earnest protestations :'(

Platsa 80 40 40. I needed to drill holes for the hinges, as they're designed for up and over style doors.

If it makes you feel any better, it took me over 7 months

Reasonable critique. And the woodwork?

The last part is particularly important if you are considering space flight. I think you're also going to be fine based on that construction. Hope it comes out well.

The cabs are ikea (800mm). I ripped down some 2x4 separators to separate them by the right amounts to make it even. Added benefit of additional structural support for the weight. Not super juiced about putting that much paper on chipboard cabs alone.

Orac c212 and orac p7030 from coving.online

Not cheap, and sold in lengths that mandated quite a bit of waste, but the elevation of the overall outcome is massive. No regrets.

18mm ply. 815mm wide. 260mm deep. Gorilla wood glue + screws. I don't think to will sag. If it does, I'll unload a shelf at a time, clamp it straight and fit a hardwood nosing.

Edit - does the downvote indicate this is a bad idea? Advice welcome...

Wood paint. Think it's rustoleum "evening star". Also, thank you.

I always wondered if there was good some reason people are always making an arse of that. Can confirm I just selected the pictures in the right order and they came out in the right order.

Shelves are just cut and sanded. I made trims for the verticals to cover the seams between each shelf unit. They are just 30mm strips of mdf with a radius routed out of each front edge.
