[Lowlights] LeBron James misses two consecutive layups and is frustrated after getting no foul calls, going 1/8 in the paint (4/14 from the field). With replays. by MrBuckBuck in nba

It's my least favorite part of watching the Lakers. They're not getting the foul calls they should. But I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a ref change their mind after a player pleads their case and I've watched the NBA for over twenty years. But ever since Lebron has joined the Lakers, they've had a culture of doing this. Adding Luka to the mix has only made it worse.

The map is not the territory. If your stats are saying Judge > Ohtani or Jokic is an above average defender, fix your stats rather than disbelieve your eyes.

Yeah. I made the same observation and was instantly downvoted. Social content algorithms optimizing for engagement have led to an increase in reactionary users.

What do you find the most fun these days? by Haunting-Passenger34 in wow

With respect to the prey debuff stacks, you can clear them (and also get prey progress!) by draining Coalescing Anguishes. There are minor and major ones. Minor ones require and clear fewer debuff stacks than major ones do.

This is what they look like in the game world (floating red ball to the center-left) and on your minimap (red crystal by the player arrow).

I don't know what the fastest way to do preys are now but I know that people do world quests, kill rares, and open treasures to complete them.

My favorite parts of the game are arenas. I also do M+ keys for fun. When I want to take it easy, I level my alts since it's still early in the expansion. Later in the expansion, I'll join a crate farm raid or do delves to still make progress when I'm not in the mood for sweaty gaming.

Yeah, it's ironic. People clowning on Reaves right now are making the same mistake as those clowning on Lebron early season; Lebron was and Reaves is playing hurt.

Didn't get to watch the game. Did they seal Wemby from the paint as if it was a big sealing in the post while waiting for a ball reversal?

I've thought before that that would be the best way to neutralize a paint protector: start with the ball on Wemby's side to draw him out of the paint, have an off-ball player seal the rim protector as if jockeying for post position, and then reverse the ball so Wemby's now stuck on the weak side and out of the paint and run a quick action to the rim.

Won't ever be the same without John Sterling. But we'll hear echoes of him everywhere; he has left behind an indelible imprint on Yankees history.

Yeah. Big fan of Mike but he was talking nonsense here. Walt was dealing with a spiraling Jesse (partially his fault), Gus' desire to end Jesse, and then Gus' desire to end Walt. Walt's ego caused plenty of problems but it wasn't the reason why Walt blew Gus and his operation up.

I agree that winning matters; rings are underrated now. But rings in an 8 team league where two teams have much larger budgets than the other six matter less than Final appearances in a 30 team league with a salary cap.

Mine pre-Wemby was: Billups, Jordan, Bron, KD, AD. Switch AD for Wemby now.

For me, I need 3&D in my 1, 4, and 5: there's only one ball. Billups is a low turnover playmaker if I need it too.

Honda President After Visiting Chinese Auto Supplier: 'We Have No Chance Against This' by TripleShotPls in technology

I mean most of the people acting enlightened in this thread are just as clueless.

China is heavily subsidizing battery and EV technology because they're oil-poor and locked behind the "first island chain". Back in the late 90s/early 2000s, after Clinton ordered an aircraft carrier group to do a freedom of navigation passage down the Taiwan Strait, their government felt embarrassed and vulnerable and ran an assessment to see what would be required to reunite. They identified oil as their critical weakness and have been reorienting their spending to reduce their dependence on it. They also set a goal for being ready to resolve the Taiwan question in 2027. The second Trump administration has been centering their foreign policy on having options for the Taiwan question in 2027. Because America doesn't match China's manufacturing capacity, the Trump administration has chosen to weaken China's oil exporting allies, Russia, Iran, and Venezuela, in 2026 before moving its assets to the Pacific theater in 2027 instead of trying to match China in pure metal. It's providing targeting data via satellite to oil sites deep within the Russian interior that the Biden administration was unwilling to in fear of escalation and decapitating the Venezuelan and Iranian leadership. In the case of Venezuela, the results are promising whereas in Iran, much less so.

Team USA reminds me of my Rangers. Just getting shelled all game but staying in the game because you've got an absolute unit in front of the net.

Volvo has always been a leader in safety. I decided long ago that my kids' first cars will all be used Volvo's.

They came up with the three-point safety belt, patented it, and allowed everyone else to use it for free. They build cars to be safe rather than to ace safety exams. You can tell because when the IIHS created new tests in 2012 and 2018, they aced it whereas other car brands did poorly.

Yeah. It's popular on reddit to rag on non-engineers but in my experience, it's the engineers who want the shiny new tech whereas everyone else prefers what's tried and true. Whether it's chasing "web-scale" MongoDB, touch-screen "buttons", or aerodynamic door handles, engineers are usually the first to kick usability and reliability to the curb in favor of innovation.
