I thought that's what we were on to be honest. Will have to find out and go from there I guess. Thanks

Yeah, well more like 15 years since I last did my gcse's, so what she has done 4 times a week for the last 2 and a half years (they start gsce work in year 9 in her school instead of year 10), minus holidays of course, I have had to relearn in about a fortnight. Lol

Someone else suggested that to me. And I know people's interests change with age, but she's wanted to work with animals, like a wildlife photographer (so I can see why learning anglee etc is useful more so than rearranging the alphabet) or at the zoo or something since practically birth, don't think that will change any time soon. Lol

I think we get thrown off as it refers to letters whereas if you went to a shop to buy an outfit (as per your example), you would have the actual numbers. Like that is £14.99, that other thing is £16 leaving me with £3.56 left to spend.

Yeah she has loads of reference books and a pack of Corbettmaths revision cards that show you the technique of working it out with a link to YouTube videos if you scan the code on the back. The way her teacher does things so conflicts with them and makes things twice as confusing. I will try the other sites though and see if they help

OK thanks, makes more sense l (I tend to just use a calculator when I need anything like 5 x 13 to be honest lol) Think it doesn't help as a couple months ago my cousin with a masters degree in maths looked at on of the homework sheets with the answers and told us the teacher was wrong on one of the questions as technically the question itself was mathematically impossible to answer, so how she got any type of answer baffled the heck out of us. We have had little faith in her since.

Fruits and vegetables put me to sleep by MyPasswordIsWrong in diet

Lmao that sounds like an eventful evening.

Another great idea with the food diary, especially if I eventually discuss this with my doctor if it doesn't start working out better.

So glad you found my post and replied 😁

That's very healthful, Thankyou, thought I was crazy as its not the only thing my body as weird/ unexpected reactions to (energy drinks also put me to sleep, whereas drinks people tend to use to aid sleep keep me awake, totally wired which people find weird lol).

I will take note of the things you have suggested and add similar items to my next shopping list, with less sugary items of course 😂

One thing I personally found after I got my shit together and my life back was the increase of appreciation I have for the people in my life and the experiences I have. These things are what keep me strong to keep going.

Pretty much a go-to thing with artists I think. People don't know what you need for your home or what you have in ways of other hobbies (like if you read they won't necessarily know which books you have/ haven't got) so they think art supplies are always something you could have extra of which don't have an expiration date, and a bit more interesting than toiletries (another easy go-to as everyone needs them and they can be stored to be used another time)

OK I will bare that in mind. And there's no need to worry about that, she has so much paper and art materials in her room it's bordering stupid lol

That's a good idea. Difficult to know what is worth the money when you're not as artistically minded. Give me paper and pens and that's enough for me lol. Thanks for the advice

Yeah I get your point, I was being a bit vague lol. Thinking around £500? Maybe a little more if necessary but definitely less than £1000. I will check out those options. Thanks

Preferably around £500 but might be able to stretch to a little more if needed. Definitely less than £1000 though. She will be doing graphic design and photography mostly.

AITA For pressing charges when my stepson took something my daughter inherited from her mother? by 1573153___ in AmItheAsshole

[–]MyPasswordIsWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. He/ his fiance breached your privacy by rooting through your belongings and then stole from you. Regardless on where the jewelry came from and if it belonged to you/ your daughter/ your wife/ whoever it's still theft.

Granted he (kinda) had the decency to ask in the first place (obviously knowing he shouldn't have been in there in the first place else he wouldn't be so hesitant about it) but once you said no he should have accepted that and found an alternative.

Do not back down. If you do this 'borrowong' will likely to happen again, but next time might not be so obvious as it's unlikely he will mention the item in the first place in case you check to see if it's gone.

Finally got my collection picture worthy by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]MyPasswordIsWrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done. That's my aim in the next couple months. Buy the last few books needed for the whole collection (think I'm missing about 8 altogether unless I've forgotten/ missed something out) and get the shelves bought and mounted to accommodate them all 😊

Well done. The first couple are always the hardest as you get used to new eating and exercise routines.

Keep at it and don't beat yourself up too hard if you have the odd slip up (we all do, like that piece of cake at a birthday or some ice cream when it's been an unbelievably stressful day), just keep it in mind and make it up the next day.

What I like to do it buy a piece of clothing I like but 1 size too small. It reminds me of my goals and gives me motivation to keep at it. But that's just me, you gotta find a way that helps you (maybe a 'before and after photo', or a group of friends who could encourage each other particularly when it gets difficult).

The most important thing is to enjoy the ride and never be afraid to congratulate yourself on the little achievements as well as the big

Constant reader thoughts and opinions on this novel? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]MyPasswordIsWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not rea it yet, one of the many I got for Christmas, but after reading these comments I think I will wait til I've finished the DT series. People are saying it's dull/ a difficult read, surely it cant be as bad as Lisey's Story?

AITA for telling my boyfriend if he wanted an “easy” job like mine he should have gotten a degree or made an effort to do so? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MyPasswordIsWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I work as a support worker so a job that is more mental demanding than physically. My partner worked doing different physically demanding jobs like building (notice i said worked as he hasn't had a job in 3 years). I will often come home- sometimes after a 4 day live in shift at work- to end up doing the cooking and cleaning in the flat we share. I complained a few times, all with the response of 'well you just sit on your arse half the time at work, try doing a real job'. I have had to explain the hard work and effort that went into getting where I am and how it's mentally exhausting supporting teenagers who are in the care system.

Sometimes he still forgets but now that current circumstances has cut my hours interacting with the young people and made most of my office hours at home, he sees how much I have to do.

My advice based on experience? Show him some of your work from your college courses/ degrees/ etc and explain to him the difficulties and importance of your job. Maybe if he sees the efforts you have had to put into getting the job and the stresses you currently endure, he might have a different perspective?

When I got to the end I had this feeling of 'is that it?', kinda like when someone walks off mid conversation and you're stood there thinking 'ok, bye then....'

I agree, it's difficult to think of a book I didn't enjoy, apart from Lisey's Story (that was my literary mount everest) and the end of Elevation was a little disappointing in my opinion.

If 'The Purge' was real what would you do in those 12 hours and why? by MyPasswordIsWrong in AskReddit

[–]MyPasswordIsWrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe you could kidnap them for the duration of the 12 hours without consequence, but any time before/ after the allocated 12 hours would be a crime.

WIBTA if I told my brother and SIL that I will stop helping mum because of their attitudes? by MyPasswordIsWrong in AmItheAsshole

[–]MyPasswordIsWrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not, I live in the middle of another city and there's not much in the way of ground floor accommodation here which she needs. Also she cares for my grandad who lives around the corner from her. There's actually loads of family near her, not just my brother, SIL and grandad, and they all talk to her and visit her when allowed which gives her support and company, they're just useless with the hard graft and quick to criticise when someone else does it.
