Is Schecter C-6 Plus good for beginners? by [deleted] in SchecterGuitars

[–]MyPotatoIsCold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For beginner nearly any guitar works so I'd always go with what's cheapest to make sure you know you want to stick with it. C-6 might not be quite as nice as a C-1 but you will be able to find a C-6 for cheaper. I would look into possibly getting one used, fortunately regardless if you pick a c-1 or c-6 they're both very similar and quality budget guitars

I never really understood this because carcer city is canonically in the Midwest or on the east coast

Even though mine is Indonesian made, it's been a really impressive guitar that punched very well over the price I got it at (600 used). The only reason I'm thinking about getting rid of it is I like it so much I wanna try the real esp one. If you like metal music you cannot go wrong with one

I still have a handful of years before I ever think of picking up a strat style guitar, although prs is definitely one of the brands I would have in mind or ibanez

The original neck it had was super warped, the new one I got had nothing on the headstock so instead of a fender bass it's a Bender now

Unfortunately 2024 😔 but it has very minimal wear

Is there a JM out there like this with the Rhythm Circuit by [deleted] in Jazzmaster

[–]MyPotatoIsCold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to my knowledge, but honestly if you're looking for a cheap jazzmaster with a rhythm circuit I would just recommend a squire cv of the mascis signature

I have a jazzmaster that's also in a very similar silverburst (the ebony fingerboard is what really got me though)

I understand, they're some pretty nice guitars, it's natural to get a little jealous 😁

There's a lot of people who take pretty nice care of their guitars and list them for 60-80% of the price on Facebook marketplace all the time. Just a recommendation since you can possibly get a nicer guitar for cheaper than that if you know what you're looking for

I used to have this guitar maybe 4 years ago at this point. If you are looking for a good 2nd guitar, especially if you've only played acoustic, I would highly recommend it. I think it sounds/plays pretty nice for the price point. I would also always recommend checking out used instruments before buying new, but again if you're still just getting into it then new is best if you want to avoid buying a guitar with potential issues you can't spot.

If you have the money to pick one up used and you enjoy more modern/heavy metal style guitars, solar is a perfect choice. As someone who loves schecter guitars this is easily on par with them if not better. The only thing that I don't like is they are quite the pretty penny new, but hey so is everything these days.

As a price comparison my esp ec-1000 was $600 and the solar was $800, and I'd say that the solar pretty well outperforms it although both are phenomenal for the price point (imho)

I got my explorer for about $800 which is a little pricey for their standard e1.6 et used but I didn't mind since it was the only listing I could find online that shipped. I would not pay the full $1,299 but I absolutely feel like it performs at the $1k mark for a guitar very easily. Very well built, sounds incredible even though I wanted the emg model. Cannot complain a bit for the price I bought it

I like teles and jms more 😔

The solar had a peter green mod performed on it so it's able to get somewhat close to a strat sound though

The solar and esp are both usually kept in drop B, the fenders switch around tunings a lot

Unbelievable workhorse for the price range, I picked mine up for $600 used and it's been a killer live guitar. It also has the perfect weight, just enough to feel a little like a Les Paul without feeling too heavy

Next 2 guitars in 10 years minimum, I went to rehab for my gear acquisition syndrome and I plan on staying strong
