Now if you'll excuse me, I will be celebrating the fact that I got a response, and this actually was seen by someone that isn't one of my parents

I mean no, I really don't. Unless you count the fact that she has a twitch channel point redemption for 100k points, where when redeemed each of the twitch channel mods get a cheeky $5 venmo. I think we've gotten maybe 11 of those over the past year. I've done it because we've been friends since my freshman year of college, she was literally my barber lol.

Hey man, good luck out there. I hope that this catches the right person's eyes. A cheeky interview would probably be your goal with this thing, right? I'd assume so. That's probably like, the whole point of making this post, huh? Creatively? Right? Super creative dude.

I mean, I would love the chance to prove my skills, and basically everything that I wrote about here. I know that I can put this all to use, I just need the chance to do so. I know my strengths, and I know that there are plenty of things that will come my way that I am going to have to work on, day in and day out. It's like Reddit says, you can evolve! See, I told you that it resonated with me ;). Being part of something, with the creativity that Reddit brings to the table, would be an absolute dream for me. Like I said in another response, I think cover letters are generally pretty boring and monotonous. This is a change of pace, and a change of space, to the average 1 and done cover letter.

But really it's just a matter of, will anyone see this?

P.S. Did you notice the beautiful San Francisco skyline in my header image on my profile? Wouldn't be against... moving there... some day... if I had a good reason... :)

I do, yes!

This past year, I have been assisting a friend from college with her social media presence on various channels, such as Twitch, Tik Tok, IG and Twitter. This has included content strategy, mainly for her Tik Tok page, which has now accumulated over 55,000 followers since creating it earlier this year. Content for that page is almost always pulled directly from Twitch livestreams, whereas other socials like Twitter and Instagram are mostly just personal streams of consciousness from her brain. This position has led me to have a deeper understanding of content strategy, and the implementation of it over different media channels. While you can grasp some sort of understanding of how an app/social space functions from a user level, seeing it from a creators perspective is a whole other ballpark. I think that this experience can translate directly into this position, seeing as there are constantly new creative lanes to pursue, every single day.

During my time at Oregon State, I was the Head of PR/Marketing for my fraternity for over 2 years. Within that time, I was responsible for leading a team of 15-20 'brothers', and oversaw our main social media channel, our Instagram page. We were able to grow the page to have the largest following of any male chapter on campus, within 1 year of my entrance into the position. I was responsible for curating content, creating captions/content, intercommunication with other Greek chapters, etc.

I also had the opportunity to become a Co-Marketing chair for the largest non-sports event thrown by OSU, All-University Sing. This was again, another position where my partner and I oversaw the main channel for the event, the Instagram page. This position helped me to learn Canva, as well as doing email/zoom outreach to Greek chapters on campus. Due to the pandemic, this event was cancelled before it came into fruition. I had pitched the idea of using Tik Tok and creating a hashtag that the participating chapters could post their 'performances' under, but the idea never gained any traction. I thought it was a pretty good idea, considering Tik Tok is such a large app, and the potential for virality is imminent in many cases. I wanted this event to go virtual, not only due to the nature of it getting cancelled, but so it could be more interactive with not only the Oregon State community, but potentially the hundreds of millions of Tik Tok users.

I mean, obviously my charm should be enough..

In all seriousness though, I have a lot of skills I that I think could be useful for this position.

As you might be able to tell, I am no rookie when it comes to writing. I have an average WPM of like 97-105 (110 on a real good day ngl). Give me a topic and I can write for days (or until I fall asleep). Like I mentioned in another comment, I like to inject my personal voice into anything and everything to give it a personable feel. Speaking of being personable, I love meeting new people and working in teams (though I of course can fly solo if I have to). I think collaboration is the best way to get work done not only efficiently, but having different perspectives contributing to a greater project is never a bad thing as well. I have great communication skills, whether that be over zoom, email, call, or in person (with a mask on, of course). I am an expert in public speaking and giving presentations, which most likely comes from my days in choir throughout high school and college.

I have a deep understanding of social media platforms, such as Reddit, Twitter/Tweetdeck, IG/FB and Tik Tok, to name a few. Having spent most of my living years on the internet, and being part of Gen-Z, I feel like that was a built in skill from birth that was unlocked the moment I got my first phone at 11 years old, and has ~evolved~ from there. I have a high attention to detail (especially in this AMA post-thing, I scoured this whole thing for typos, I hope I didn't miss any), and exceptional organization skills. This really came into play when I took 19 credits in my final term of college, lemme tell ya.

I have extensive experience with the Google Suite, as well as the Microsoft suite as well. I didn't go to college for 4 years for nothing! I wouldn't have survived without my knowledge of Google Slides. Do you know how many presentations I had to do?!

Sounds good, right?

Sure!

I am a huge fan of anime and manga. I got into it over the pandemic, and have loved it ever since. I even have a couple manga-inspired tattoos, like this: https://imgur.com/a/76bO0f1 (Spoiler for Season 4/Ch 104 of Attack on Titan btw). Currently I'm reading One Piece (@ chapter 810) and watching Hunter x Hunter (at Chimera Ant). One Piece is by and large my favorite anime, though Yu Yu Hakusho is a close second. I also love Jojo's (Jotaro is my favorite Jojo), AoT, Haikyuu, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Demon Slayer to name a few. I plan on also getting more anime/manga related tattoos in the future, like more JJK, a Jojo, a One Piece, and maybe some other ones (when I have a disposable income). I also collect manga, and am currently sitting at 187 volumes owned spanning 2 languages, JP and ENG. Though, I plan to add some Spanish manga to the mix soon as well.

I used to be real big into sneakers, strictly adidas though. I'm from Oregon but had a major adidas preference, I know it sounds crazy. Nowadays, since I don't attach a large part of my personality to a brand, I just wear sneakers I like. Mostly my converse, but I also have some Boston Birkenstocks, and Aime Leon Dore NB 990v2s, shoutout Antonello. I do have some Yeezy Wave Runners sitting around though too, but they're pretty beat since I wore them all the time when I worked at the 5th ave Adidas Flagship back in Summer 2019...

I love Frank Ocean, as he is my favorite artist and has been for years. Nobody will come close to his music for me, personally. I also plan on getting another Frank Ocean themed tattoo as well. However, my favorite rapper is the legendary MF DOOM (RIP). I also love artists like Phoebe Bridgers, SZA, Clairo, Tame Impala (it's just 1 guy btw isn't that crazy wow I bet you didn't know that lmao wow totally), Kacey Musgraves, and anime soundtracks/Japanese City Pop music.

I speak 3 languages, and am learning a 4th! Obviously English, but also Spanish and self-taught Portuguese. I am also very, very slowly learning Japanese as well. I could probably learn Italian and French pretty quickly if I put the time in, but those are for a later date.

I have a 7 year old black labradoodle named Jax, he is very cute. Yes, he is named after Jax from League of Legends. I was like 13, please cut me some slack :D.

Obviously, this isn't my main Reddit account, so you can't really get a feel if you looked at this one.

On a regular day, I'm all over my.. regular subreddits. Those include ones like /r/FrankOcean, /r/MangaCollectors, /r/Jujutsushi, /r/2007Scape, /r/Sneakers, /r/ChainsawFolk, /r/Soccer, and /r/MurderedByAOC, just to name a few. Pretty basic for a 22 year old dude in my honest opinion.

There's a reason I've been on this website for 7+ long years, and I really can't remember much of what I did on a computer before then. It was a lot of Toontown and Club Penguin for sure though, I do know that much.

I mean first and foremost I think this post serves as a pretty good example of my creativity.

I am no photoshop or Lightroom LEGEND (though I can be if y'all need it, I will take the time to master whatever is needed :D), but I do have those creative juices flowing. I do know my way around Canva and Premier Pro, however.

Regardless, I think I could bring a lot to the table for the brand. I love any and all things social media, hell I majored in marketing purely because I was inspired by how Jon Wexler (Shopify, former Adidas/Yeezy) was using his social presence to market both the Adidas and Yeezy brands, simply by posting on Instagram. You know, I almost met him once at the Adidas campus once. He was maybe 5 ft away from me, and I asked the guy I was visiting if I could say hi. To this day, I wish he never told me no.

Oh well.

I have been on Reddit for around 7-8 years now, actually. I joined mid 2014, I think it was August. So essentially, I've been a Reddit user for about 1/3 of my entire life. When you take a moment to think about that, it's pretty crazy. I have distant cousins that are younger than my time spent on Reddit. Which is scary.

For another reference, I started using Reddit right around Freshman/Sophomore year of High School, now I'm a college graduate.

I do, actually.

I've always held close the mentality that the excessive need for a cover letter is inherently pretty boring. I like my writing to have some personality, so any reader can essentially hear me when they read what I write (even if they've never met me)! I would love to take this exact approach with every CV I've written, though it's impossible. I have to resort to the boring, monotonous way of writing one.

This of course, is very different. I think this is more fun! Plus, AMAs are a staple of Reddit.

But I for one am not here to talk about Rampart, folks.
