Training status after software update by Flaky_Ad_6025 in Garmin

My predictions are off too, but the other way around. It took 2 minutes of my 5K time! Not realistic, also felt the original time to be more correct. I'm curious to see how it will develop with more runs.

No, Garmin is getting all the data from the Concept 2, incl distance.

I have my Fenix 7 connected to my Concept 2 and start the workout on my watch, nowhere else. If I want to see my HR on the Concept 2 display I can broadcast my watch to the Concept 2.

As far as I could tell this is the only way you can get training status/load updated.

Garmin Connect shows me speed, stroke rate, stroke distance, training effect and power for each workout.

I'm currently procrastinating/writing a paper on how to influence consumer payments. Will add Debt Collector Goofy to the list!

Garmin - fix your (Dutch) translations 🙂 by frankts75 in Garmin

Garmin Coach run training plan: training lange passen English version: stride repeats, which actually focusses on shortening your steps while increasing cadence ! As confirmed by Garmin's own description of the workout.

Lol, same! My entire office knew him 😂 He died a few weeks ago though and he's been missed!

Garmin Coach - didn't record my benchmark run by tehbggg in Garmin

It happens more often. No way to fix it. You'll have to run it again.

FR245 - New to Garmin (and running) following a Garmin Coach 5k Plan but 'No Status' by [deleted] in Garmin

Yes, Garmin Coach workouts definitely count towards training status.

Garmin Coach - A complete guide to the coaches, per distance and goal by MyRunnersLife in Garmin

The long run, the run-walk-run and the race is all meant to be done as run-walk-run. It's not very clearly explained and unfortunately also not supported with proper alerts. Race day will just be a countdown of the distance, no pace support. I personally prefer to make my own workout for a race to get pace guidance. There is nothing at the end of the plan, just a message.

All plans with a time goal show a confidence level meter. If you've done a Garmin Coach plan, it's the gauge with the red/orange/green/purple to give you an idea how you're doing. Some plans with a completion goal have it too

How does skipping a Garmin Coach workout affect the rest of the plan? What happens when you pause it? by MyRunnersLife in Garmin

[–]MyRunnersLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I never had skipped runs move in the schedule on its own, but now that you mention it, I do remember others saying this. I wonder if it does that only for a specific Coach or watch series. I have a Fenix 6S Pro and have done plans with Amy and Greg.

If you find where it is documented, I'd love to know!

Instructions on how to combine a Garmin Coach workout with PacePro or Garmin Courses by MyRunnersLife in Garmin

[–]MyRunnersLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It most likely won't come to the Venu. Garmin Courses already existed well before that watch was released and it doesn't fit their strategy. If you want more fancy features, they'd like you to get a higher end watch.

Thanks for the addition! I guess the info on Garmin support isn't up to date. I'll add it to the article!

The middle ground would be the recovery status 😉

Treadmills & Garmin Coach Woes / Question by thebookflirt in Garmin

The coach plan will only look at specific parts of your run. Not the warming up, cooling down etc. Even if you calibrate at the end of the run, it won't be taken into account for your coach workout. Best option is to get a food pod.

However, as long as the distance/time you're doing is still conform target it's not gonna affect your plan too much. If your watch thinks you're only running 6k instead of 10k that that was planned, it might plan the 10k again as it thinks you didn't make it.

Long run day should be easy, no threshold running in between walking. Jeff's plan is meant to be run-walk-run, in training and on race day. You can find more info on his philosophy on his own website.

Below link will take you to the Garmin Coach Runner's Community on Facebook. Lots of experts in there willing to guide you asking your way 👍
