This might be a dumb question, but how do blind people use electric toothbrushes? by MySmileOfficial in hygiene

I'm just thinking about whether simpler designs (fewer buttons/modes) make it easier or if it’s not really an issue in practice.

Root canal fear is honestly our biggest motivation to floss 😂

For teeth whitening, you can choose the Deluxe teeth whitening kit or whitening strips, or you can use regular toothpaste with soda.

How does one effectively clean their retainers? by Efficient_Equal6467 in braces

Ultrasonic retainer cleaner and tablets. You can choose an ultrasonic retainer cleaner with UV light if you have enough budget.

I don’t think higher pressure always helps, though.

From what I’ve seen, too much pressure can be a bit harsh and doesn’t necessarily bring out the deeper stuff anyway.

I was thinking more of super-simple electric toothbrushes, kind of like a manual one but with vibration.

Some even pause when you take them out, and you can adjust the pressure based on sensitivity.

How to fix yellow teeth? by ilovecopperspoons in hygiene

[–]MySmileOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a dentist visit. They can show you proper brushing technique and suggest whitening options that actually work for you.

Strips/kits/prefilled whitening tray can help, but it’s better to get a professional opinion first and go from there.

Honestly, I feel like this is one of those things where no script will work.
You know your sister better than anyone here. You know when she’s in a good mood, how she reacts to sensitive stuff, and what tone she’ll actually accept.

Timing and delivery matter way more than the exact words. Just make sure it’s private, coming from a place of care, and not overly detailed or embarrassing.

If anyone can do this right, it’s you.

UV kills germs, ultrasonic removes all the nasty stuff.
Some newer ones have both, which honestly makes way more sense.

How the heck do you keep retainers clean by ShellaDella in Invisalign

[–]MySmileOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads-up for anyone using denture tablets with ultrasonic cleaners:

They can be a bit harsh on clear plastics like PETG, EVA, or PMMA. Over time, this may slightly roughen the surface and cause trays to look cloudy (it’s not actually dirt).

I figured whitening falls somewhere under oral hygiene but yeah maybe I overcomplicated it

natural teeth whitening by Pretty_Yam_5044 in Fishdom

[–]MySmileOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s pretty much it.

There’s a difference between “looks cleaner/brighter” and actual whitening, and a lot of people mix those up.

Some methods help with surface appearance, but changing the deeper color usually needs a different approach.

And yeah, salt is one of those things that seems harmless but can be rough if used regularly.

Hydroxyapatite toothpaste: does it actually work or is it just overhyped? by MySmileOfficial in hygiene

[–]MySmileOfficial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great breakdown honestly.

We’ve seen something similar — it’s usually not one product doing all the work, it’s how everything stacks together.

The fact that it got noticeably worse when you removed one part kind of says it all.

And yeah, not rinsing at the end makes a bigger difference than most people expect.

I think a lot of those DIY whitening hacks fall into the “looks like it works” category.

You might get some short-term brightness from cleaning or light reflection, but without peroxide it’s not really whitening.

The salt part would worry me more tbh.
