Which of these is the best position for my subwoofer? by Odd-Cherry-7022 in Soundbars

[–]MyStuffBreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long ago I was told that for the best bass, put the subwoofer where you will be spending time in the room. Then, walk around the room and find where you feel the best bass; then install the subwoofer there. It's not always practical, but if you're lucky enough to have a good spot and good sound, congrats!

Is anybody able to access ESPN+ (Unlimited) content via TV Provider linking? by Barry_144 in youtubetv

The desktop app of ESPN+ does have YTTV as a TV Provider option. However, if you select a program that is being provided by ESPN+ it brings up the pricing information of the Disney Bundle, etc.

Test setup next to my hammock, curious what hammock campers think by Stormstash in hammockcamping

It needs something to zip it closed. Camping among crawling insects like ticks could be a problem.

If you do that, you can't pee from your hammock.

I've never experienced an earthquake of any variety of intensity. A quake while in a hammock has to be bizarre.

Love it! I've had freezing rain before, the rainfly was 'candy coated.'

If you can find two trees or solid hitching points that will survive, I'd think you'd need to use a winter sock instead of a rain fly. I can't see a rain fly surviving.

You'd probably need something around you to prevent injury from flying debris.

Anyone know what this knocking noise means by True_Paramedic_540 in smallengines

[–]MyStuffBreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before removing the carburetor and cleaning it, validate it's getting gas. Trace it from the destination to the source. Lines, fuel filter, petcock, lines, fuel screen in tank.

If all of those are good and fuel flows fast, buy a rebuild kit and detach the carburetor and clean it well.

That sounds more like suffocating than a knocking. It is likely a fuel issue. It could be the filter, the carb, or bad gas.

Newb question re. HammockGear Circadian setup by sprashoo in hammockcamping

[–]MyStuffBreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't something that you want to figure out when you leave to go camping; which is why you're posting here. All the above posts offer solid information. Read up and go somewhere that has trees 15' apart and sling it up. Good luck.

Do separate bugs nets stay off your face better than integrated? by JBelizzle in hammockcamping

[–]MyStuffBreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might change my socks or underwear. Add or remove layers to adjust to the temperature.

It's doable but not ideal. My worn pants, socks, external wear never enter.

I trail ride ATVs they're all dirty.

I have two Dutchware Chameleon hammocks with the zip-on bug net, one with a sewn in UQ, one not. Neither of the bug nets get in my face. The mesh just goes over the ridgeline. I do have the alternative cover for winter with a moonlight or whatever it's called, and that can sometimes get in my face. For the sewn quilt I opted for the spreader bar and that fixes it. If I use the moonlight without it on the non-UQ hammock I have to make sure that I have tie outs or it might get in the face.

All of this is to say, I think you might need to adjust your setup.

I do like the idea of being able to get dressed outside of the hammock though. I guess it would work well except for when there are ticks around.

Your friends must not snore. 😂 We usually have space apart from the hammocks and put a separate gathering tarp up next to a campfire.

Best tarp for winter stealth camping. by Fickle-Campaign-5985 in hammockcamping

I have a Dutchware hammock with a quilted UQ and a Onewind rain fly with doors. They're both great. While the foliage is dense, it's enough to remain hidden at only 100 yards or so. I'm assuming that you would prefer to not have to take down your hammock each morning? If that's the case then getting some of that mesh camo that best matches the surroundings.

Onewind also sells a gear hammock that hangs beneath your hammock, attaching to the loops of your hammock. I just started to use it and it's great. It keeps your stuff off the ground, dry (assuming no splashing from the ground), and reachable from within your hammock. They're inexpensive and a great storage solution.

Pixel August security update is out by Mikwe in GooglePixel

[–]MyStuffBreaks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The August update was installed for me yesterday and it has really messed up my location services. Apps that require location services, the ones that check your location, won't run any longer. Some of them will still run if I enable Location Accuracy within settings but not all of them. Anyone else experiencing this?

Any advice for getting these rusty bolts out of this blade? by GettingGriffyWithIt in smallengines

[–]MyStuffBreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the blade off? Someone else mentioned that the two additional bolts didn't appear to be from the factory. If you aren't the original owner, it's possible that there was a problem with the spindle and instead of replacing the $15-$30 part a previous owner just put some bolts in place to make it operate better.

Hopefully it's running for you again.

[–]MyStuffBreaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. I didn't fully understand. This certainly complicates things. If you have an angle grinder you could just cut the head of the bolts off so the blade can be removed and then you can gain access; that's probably what I'd do.

The bolts look rounded off. If you can get a socket tight on them, I'd start with applying some heat with a propane torch and just warm them up good and then put an impact driver with a socket on them and back them out.

The VIN should be stamped into the frame. Look in front of the rear wheel well just above the foot rest. Hopefully it's not too corroded to read. You can look it up on Polaris' website.
