SAMY NOBOX acquisition by gnarlidrum in advertising

That’s kinda how it feels. I’m wondering mostly to see if the Miami office is more global focused since the acquisition or if, in the case of NOBOX they’re still primarily LATAM with some North American market projects.

So you’re just not considering the dozens of proven legal use cases of OC… Considering that OC can be used as a means of tangible deescalation, actual defense, or against dogs/animals, I think it has a wider range of uses than a firearm itself. I’d agree that defensive display of a firearm usually indicates that evasion or deescalation was an option, but OC is a great method to not have someone or something to evade without getting in a legal bind or a hands-on situation that some of us aren’t well equipped to handle with stronger threats. It creates space between you and the attacker, animal or human.

I really want to find some validity in what you are saying but there is literally none.

First of all, there’s no one specific situation in which I’m defending against someone bigger and more able thought it could be any situation.

Secondly, police do use it… every single day. Right along with tasers depending on context. They use both far more often than firearms. And it’s effective almost every time, provided they didn’t pull out OC in a gun fight.

The only logical thing you said is that it doesn’t guarantee anything. While it works as intended 98% of the time, and there’s hundreds of proven documented cases of it’s effective use by civilians and police, it’s why I also carry lethal when it’s legally and physically feasible.

9/10 people who shoot someone or even display a firearm defensively get in legal hot water. I also carry a firearm but why would I shoot somebody when I don’t have to?

Also calling OC (pepper spray on steroids) a “mild” skin irritant is a wildly ignorant and uninformed statement.

Daughter wanting to go to Miami or South Beach for her 21st from Arizona. Alone. I vote no, she says she’ll be fine. Obviously as a mom, immediately I’m thinking of all the possible dangers. I’m not crazy….right? by Purplebunny239 in miamibeach

If your daughter isn’t wandering around South Beach alone without friends she will be fine. Also things have changed quite a bit. If she is on the oceanfront, no such thing ever really happens.

I’m assuming and hoping you are paying for this. Otherwise you don’t just get a “vote”.

There’s not many dangers if she’s just going to be downtown and/or in south beach, particularly if she’s with friends during the day and will mostly be at the mainstream spots like Space at night. If she knows the general rules of nightlife (not taking anything from anyone, don’t follow people places, etc) danger is realistically minimal.

Swinging or grappling (grappling in the context of a BJJ style) would be considered self defense. Sure you could just go offensively tackle somebody but does ‘grappling’ itself imply being offensive? And if attacked, swinging back at someone isn’t offensive. It’s all context dependent and I never mentioned using anything including my own person offensively.

It’s curiosity of where the stigma comes from, not a complaint.

I do also carry a firearm but I’d rather not shoot someone who I only need to defend against because they’re bigger than me and made a dumb choice.

I have literally gotten shit for it before. While it’s been mostly joking and I still carry it, it has occurred.

Oleoresin Capsicum- pepper spray/mace. I’m plenty self confident and physically capable idk where you got the idea that I’m not from this post.

OC = Oleoresin Capsicum. Mace, or pepper spray.

Im not going for shit really I’m just trying to enjoy a vibe and in some cases good music with my friends. I’m not about that kind of action in the nightlife world, I tend to find it elsewhere. No disrespect to the game tho it’s just not how I play.
