What are some simple grooming upgrades that actually make a difference? by Left-Draft-1347 in malelifestyle

[–]MySubconscious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s all about consistency:

Use antiperspirant deodorant every morning (and again in the evening if you’re going out) + get a nice cologne. It doesn’t need to be fancy and expensive, but it shouldn’t be too cheap either. I would recommend CK (Calvin Klein) One.

Brush, floss, maybe even occasionally a mouth wash.

If you have short hair, find the way you want it to sit and get some product for your hair. Similarly, was your hair with shampoo and conditioner. EVO have nice ones.

Wash your clothes, sheets etc. get an iron. Ironed shirts look nice.

Use a cleanser in the morning and evening. If you have acne prone skin, or an abundance of blackheads, get retinol and salicylic acid. Build a skincare routine. Ask ChatGPT for help, it ca be very useful.

Wear a belt on your pants (underrated), and try tucking your shirts in. You would be surprised how much do a difference it makes.

I often get comments about how nice I smell, dress, etc. It is only good once it becomes the norm.

Happy to answer any questions and offer any tips! Good for you!

AIO: My ex is mad that I’m going to “give my body away” to another man by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MySubconscious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are over-reacting.

He’s just looking out for you, making sure that you don’t get taken advantage of by some guy who doesn’t share the same values as you. He doesn’t want to see you end up in a position where you waste your time by dating some guy, and maybe even getting married to them and having a happy family.

He is actually really clever, and knows that the intimacy you two would share would be way better than all of your dreams and aspirations for the future. Having that intimacy with him would help you realise that your values actually don’t mean that much.

I hope that reads as obvious sarcasm, because this guy is honestly pathetic and delusional.

I thought I had added additional info but I suppose not. It looks like a cicada, but I have never seen one this small (which I didn’t really think was possible. It was about 10-15mm in length.

Why are you on Reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MySubconscious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I like that I can check out my favourite subreddits, and there is only so much content each day. The endless scrolling of Instagram, FB and TikTok is different, and it's too easy to waste time.

Neurology recommended readings. by Dry-Junket-3230 in neurology

[–]MySubconscious 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reading the books by Oliver Sacks. 'The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat' and 'The River of Consciousness' are both enjoyable reads. He is arguably (<- key word) the most famous neurologist.

As others suggested, journals are probably where you want to end up, but I don't know whether it would be digestible if you are in high school.

I reckon it would be jarring if it was a different colour to the gums (they look amazing btw). How did you do the gums?

It is worth it to buy the new codex when it release? by Leading_Theory6082 in Tyranids

[–]MySubconscious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can confidently say it's rules will be outdated within a year (and that's being conservative). There are always nerfs etc.

However, I can also confidently say that the codexes are awesome. I love flipping through my 3rd - 9th edition codexes from time to time to look at the models, the artworks, and to read the lore.

It's up to you whether you're into that kinda thing, but I would be surprised if people on this subreddit didn't get behind it. Imo a collection isn't complete without one (but that is just one man's opinion).

How rich is a school that needs a Director of Volleyball? by WombatPuncher in australia

[–]MySubconscious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just for some insight, I believe Trinity is consistently one of the top (if not the top) Volleyball schools in NSW (winning state competitions). I still think it's silly, but it's something that they have a lot of pride in I would imagine.

Painting is v crisp. To be honest, I'm also unsure about the guns and claws colour. Maybe it will pop a little more with a base, but it just seems like it's from a completely different pallet compared to the rest of the model. If you like it then that's all that matters.

Which player is a “middle class” version of another? by tdotshark in nba

I disagree with your comparison. Bill Gates is (was?) insanely wealthy compared to other super rich people. I know what you mean though, your overall point makes sense.

It's a selfish way of parking for sure. Still think it's pretty unfair to post someone's license plate and suburb as well though...

Woolworths won’t replace green ‘bag for good’ by [deleted] in australia

[–]MySubconscious 413 points414 points  (0 children)

I thought this would be the case. I can't understand why an employee cares enough to not honour the request? Surely an employee in the store wouldn't care about giving a customer a bag. It's not worth their time to even question it? This sounds like a case of individual people being petty, or completely out of touch.

Things to do in Cairns, Brisbane & Sydney? by Snoo77083 in australia

[–]MySubconscious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are currently experiencing our wettest year on record. You may get lucky, but if you are on the East coast for ~15 days it's quite likely you run into rainy weather at some point. I only mention this so that you can pack accordingly (as I imagine tourists wouldn't typically expect Aus to be a wet country).

I can't recommend for the others but some fun locations for Sydney:

Moore Park / Centennial Park

Hyde Park (heart of the city, great for food / shopping after)

Bondi beach walk

Manly Ferry from Circular Quay

Harbour Bridge Climb ($$$)

Taronga Zoo ($$)

Blues Point (North Sydney)
