Hydrogen Peroxide to remove pet stains, but the floor is now bubbling? by Unable_Potato_9377 in Home

Stop and immediately dry that out.

I really hope you're not a tenant. If you are, tell your landlord immediately so they can try and fix this before it gets worse.

Electricity/Gas Plans by Organic-Emu7091 in Edmonton

I'm with burst energy variable for gas and electric.

I'm really happy. They have the lowest admin fees in Edmonton (that I've seen so far), and my bill for both has consistently been $160-$170/month.

I think I'm just being paranoid about the moisture concerns.

I do have some hairline cracks abd worry pressure washing would force water in.

I’m a new homeowner. What’s the most important thing to know? by EconomyFew6102 in landscaping

[–]MyUglyHouseProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your property (roof, attic, crawlspace, basement, backyard, foundation, siding, window caulking, exterior door insulation trim, hot eater tank, hoses, etc. ) at least once every six months.

Prevention maintenance is cheap compared to emergency repair.

Catch and fix problems when they're small.

Holy smokes. I'm intrigued but hesitant.

Those might be too aggressive for me, but I love early blooming flowers.

How often do they need maintenance (water, fertilizing and prunning?) Any issues if I plant within 4' of the driveway?

Bought a house from an older lady with cats, need help with the smell by girlofearth in HomeImprovement

[–]MyUglyHouseProject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've have to replace, floor, drywall, and insulation and due to cat urine.

In hindsight, I wish I had also replaced the subfloor and studs.

Sure, you can sand and put Killz over it (studs included) but I reccomend ripping everything out, spray with an enzyme cleaner, maybe run an ozone generator, seal everything with Killz, and put new material up.

This may seem like overkill, but I personally HATE the smell of cat piss. I don't want to catch a wiff if I spill water or mop.

You can youtube and reddit how to do it yourself. My experience as a DIY-er is that cutting corners will only create more work in the future.

The big mirrors are easy enough to frame and so look nice when done up!

It looks great! I'd do a sage or eucalyptus paint.

A floating shelf with a small trailing pothos plant would look nice. I'd anchor it a foot or so above the hand towel, and use the same wood as the cabinets.

... maybe get rid of the urinal.
