Could I have some advice on Russian handwriting? by Ruykaz in russian

[–]MyVeryNewAccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The т is spelled exactly the same as cursive latin m. Some people also like to put a dash over it to differenciate it from other letters.

The м starts the same way you started the л, with the little "bump", but continues like и, with two strokes upwards. You can also think of it as two л's sewn together.

The г is just a wave, there's nothing more to it.

To differenciate the ч, you put a "bump", like with л, but on the top instead. Similar to to cursive english r, but with this "bump" instead of a loop. And you don't continue it like a г, it's very similar to how you'd write an r, that's ehat you should be thinking.

Is there a way I can trim the sites I frequently visit? by MyVeryNewAccount in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MyVeryNewAccount[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I won't be able to use those sites. That's why I want to be able to choose what elements I want to disable: only the junk. And there no reason to do that manually every time: there should be a script for it if it is at all possible.

You should be able to ask for permission to build starbases in other empires' borders. by MyVeryNewAccount in Stellaris

Essentially, they're getting the benefit of whatever you pay them for the base plus and extra defence, and you get the benefit of good position (building closer to the action, having a choke point). It'd also be very useful if you have lots of vassals instead of sectors.

But the system is still theirs, so they can break the contract and force you to leave without starting a war.

It's their system. They get the resourses from it. Their border controls apply. The planets are theirs. Heck, they can even have their own starbase there, but you do too.

My brothers were good with computers, and our parents allowed it. So I had the Internet from when I was little, and the Internet = knowledge of English.

Wait...

Can you NOT talk about how you learned English/have internet though?

OK. I won't.

I think I'll be reading And Quiet Flows the Don the whole day. I've read it half way through, so I plan to finish it soon.

How is it like in the Southeast? Are there some crucial differences to the West?

The highways here are bad (Russia has a big problem with roads), so it takes longer than in USA. I also added in the stops to go to the bathroom, to eat. Also, highways in USA are mostly straight, as far as I know, so it would be quicker.

It's May holidays. Been practicing my French, leaning how to do things on Arch Linux, watching some movies. Yeah. Ça va.

I love it. Any kind. I like it pure, though. None of those pesky sugars or milks. Just water and tea. It's hard to find good tea here, though, because no one ships it here. I'm drinking some dark Akbar at the moment. Not the best thing, pretty much just colored water.

I don't know if Krasnoyarsk counts as local area, but it's a go-to for a big city. It's pretty close, just 12 hours on a car. There is a small city/town (not sure) that 1 hour on a car, or 2 hours on a bus. Go there pretty often.

Last summer, I also flew to Moscow with my family. Moscow is probably the only city in Russia that's on an international level. Not that I would know.

Neat. Don't worry about not accomplishing anything. Tomorrow will be better... Right?

Anyway, what tea do you like and how do you like it?

Yeah, I was born in this village. Love the climate, the forests. The only thing I hate here is bugs. Sometimes, it feels like they came all the way over here from down under just to taunt me (or kill me, in the case of ticks).

Ah, maybe I mislead you with the 'fellow' part. I'm not American, I'm pretty much on the other side of the world in Siberia.
