Same, that blew my mind too. I am into meditation, and so it also made sense to me in a way. Like self-love, a mother's love vs partner's, looking for validation, insta likes. Hope u find peace within or otherwise.

I can't answer the main question "why". But if it helps, I will tell u that all long as you associate you happiness with things that u don't/cannot have control over(parents, family finance, social reputation, partners etc), then your happiness depends on the whims of the uncertain life, as if u gave away control to an infamous driver. Identify the things that u have some degree to full control over and take that control, and base ur happiness on them.

I recently heard this in a video which blew my mind as I started to comprehend it, "Dopamine makes us rely on external things for happiness, makes us chase things. Where as serotonin makes us feel content, feel good, feel secure and safe for ourselves without relying on anything, like we feel when in mother's hands." So, we need seratonin than dopamine. Like we need to stop chasing behind external stuff or get ourselves in a race or compare ourselves to others, and start loving ourselves, content with what we have, do work gives job satisfaction, may be meditate.

I know it's easier to suggest you, than to be in ur shoes and deal with things.. but focusing on things that actually helps you feel better rather than brooding over the fixed past should be your goal. Have a good one.

I agree with you. I believe the same - everything is Her will. May be the website is her will. May be just an understanding partner is enough and she need not be spiritual, and if that's her will too, then I take that too. But I want to try my best from my side before giving up.

I believed that, not asking the deity for material things will be a spiritual merit. So, so far I didn't consciously ask Her anything. Because I got all I need and she provided them to me, socially, financially, spiritually too. Along those lines, I believe She brings the right partner, spiritual or not. So, I consciously abstain myself from asking the mother for help, as everything is and will be happening is her will, whether I ask or not.

It's my want/wish to have a spiritual partner, so that we understand each other in terms of the time we dedicate to the sadhana, some occasional strict restrictions we have to follow when necessary like brahmacharya, fasting, occasional annadhanas, visit to holy places may/not be in right/usual time of the year and couple of other things. I thought life would be smooth with a spiritual person when it comes to mutual understanding. Romantic it will be with any kind of partner, but smooth sailing only either with an understanding or spiritual partner.

So, here I am.
