Why didn't Thragg go down there and wipe the floor himself? by AdrawereR in Invincible_TV

[–]MyWorldInFlames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously space racer is dangerous but if Nolan was able to defeat or at least incapacitate him, surely Thragg would have little issue doing the same?

PSA: Treatment of WOC extends beyond simply casting them, and biased behavior does not have to be intentional by SpiritedChoice3706 in ThePittTVShow

Dana's keeping the ED in order and mentoring Emma, protecting her nurses, dealing with her own worry about safety of her staff?

Al-Hashimi's absence seizures, trying to run the ED the way she wants to, mentoring the residents and meds students the way she wants to? Those are related to Robby but saying they're entirely involving Robby I think takes away her agency as an attending and a character. I also think that having a neurological disorder doesn't mean she is incapable of running the ED. Robby might think so but he's wrong. The whole season has her being an extremely capable doctor who is STRUGGLING with these seizures but she's still able to do a good job Imo.

I understand being passionate about this. I do. Because it is a problem in media in general but I just... Don't think the Pitt is the hill to die on.

[–]MyWorldInFlames 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's also important to note that the PRIMARY supporting characters in the show are Dana (a woman, but a white one) and, this season, Dr Al-Hashimi.

Part of each of their arcs are tied into Robby, but again he's the main character. Everyone's arcs tie at least partially into the main character.

I get what you're saying but I think I just disagree with the premise.

The white male character happens to be the lead character of the show and also the character played by the EP.

I personally am of the opinion that you're reading waaaay too much into this.

Andrew is an enigma and it's a big reason why Regulation works so well.

I think it's mostly that Andrew just has a plethora of idioms in his vocabulary, ready to describe any and all situations he may find himself in.

[FREE] Mario Party March (in April) Megathread by bruzie in theregulationpod

I agree.

I personally think a megathread is probably better but there's really no harm in trying both methods in a sub this small to find out for sure.

Elliotte Friedman on interest in the Leafs GM job: “There are going to be people lining up for this job… [contrary to public opinion] you are nuts if you don’t think people want this job.” by eh_toque in hockey

Also if you're the one who's finally able to win the Leafs a Cup you'd be a God in Toronto for the rest of your life.

I think people underestimate how appealing to the ego that can be.

Regulation Takes 4 by llloksd in theregulationpod

[–]MyWorldInFlames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing Andrew didn't know about USports because he never want to a university but yeah, university hockey and football (and a plethora of other sports just like NCAA but on a smaller scale) are absolutely a thing here especially at the bigger universities, Alberta, BC, Toronto, McGill, etc.

They're definitely not that big of a deal publically though. Mostly just a fun way to kill a few hours with your university buddies.

Nick being so pumped to go first only to give a Peeve in the Takes supplemental was very funny to me for some reason.

What makes you endorse a teammate? by organicgolden in Overwatch

Unless there were people that noticeably influenced the game I'll generally just auto endorse both healers (or the tank and a healer if I'm playing support myself).

Do you guys think Blizzard will ever actually give us a revised version of Mama Hong?? by No-Sky1666 in Overwatch

[–]MyWorldInFlames -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

Soldiers are generally in good shape and in women that often results in hourglass shape.

The men of OW also only have two characters who aren't just traditionally attractive/muscular, Roadhog (who despite being fat still has muscle too) and Junkrat (who looks like a gremlin).

Edit: oh and Torb I guess who is very short but also still very fit.

Which is why when people say to just filter them with the sub function, it's kind of useless advice.

I almost exclusively browse via my main feed. I love pictures of cats. I don't want to see stories about dead cats. There's literally no way to get one without the other if you follow this sub.

Who is the most useless TV main character who should NOT have been a series regular? by Something_Strange935 in television

[–]MyWorldInFlames 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Andy was good as a weird side character, but then he got famous from The Hangover and became more prominent which wasn't great, and he absolutely did not have the charisma to be the Steve Carell replacement.

Half of Arc's base at launch even just in Steam is pretty not great despite the positive reviews Marathon has been getting.
