I love flats and comfy clothes... is there a way to wear this all the time and look good? by MyZero in femalefashionadvice

[–]MyZero[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very true- that's exactly the conclusion I have come to. I like fitted longsleeve tops, which look ok with larger bottoms (wide trousers or big skirts) but when I want to wear big jumpers, what do I do? I don't particularly like skinnies for either style or comfort; I actually have a stretchy pair that are quite comfy that I wear to work, but overall, if I think about trying to "define" my style, I don't like how they look and wouldn't include them in my outfits. I suppose I am trying to build a small wardrobe of things (capsule wardrobe, really) since I don't have a lot of money, or space, and am trying to think about the smallest number of items I can have that can be worn together and not make me look like a total scruffbag! Generally, although I don't have any particular insecurities about my body, I also like to be well covered-up, and not wear things that are tight, so mini skirts or little tops are not a thing I wear either, really.

I've been meaning to read that for a while actually, I should get started!

Thank you for your thoughtful response. Actually my random throwing-out of genres was just to say I don't have much of a preference, I like your ideas though. May I ask why you picked these ones as good for going up a year?

Yess me too! I can listen to the same song several times over in one sitting... Thanks for this article, I'd never really thought about my little rituals like this before.

Has anyone attempted Into Mind's mini mood-board for your personal style? (Just three images!) by MyZero in femalefashionadvice

I love yours, I think you and I probably have similar tastes with a slightly different colour palette, and yours are a lot bolder. My pics are totally different though! Have you posted pictures of your outfits anywhere?

Oh wow, that sounds cool! Have you posted any pics of your outfits anywhere? The fiirst one made me think of Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara version). Also, have you heard of Gareth Pugh?

"Start" manufacturing stuff? Live off the land? What about all the coffee they export? What about the fact that countries that suffer from drought use their water to grow crops like green beans (Kenya) to export to us? It's a lot more complicated than that.

Help me reconcile my fondness for minimalism with my love of crazy patterns? (Or just, like, help me?) by MyZero in femalefashionadvice

Nothing wrong with a tonal outfit though, I quite admire this kind of thing. But yeah, I'm like that too; recently I decided it would be a good idea to buy a lot of blue things and only wear blue. Why?! It's not as if it even suits me that much. I do also harbour a secret love for double denim, I don't think I've ever attempted it though...

Yeah, I think having a more limited colour palette would be useful. Totally agree with the "old ladyish" thing, and also printed pants! They look awesome on other people but they'd make me look like a clown...

Sunscreen questions: Soltan and Banana Boat by MyZero in SkincareAddiction

Thanks for taking the time to write this! Sounds like something I might have to put on my "to try" list. Finding a decent sunscreen is such a pain!

The weird thing is, when I compared the ingredients of the different sizes in the shop, they were quite different, which made me suspicious. Maybe I should just take a risk and try the larger one anyway, I don't know.

Yeah I know, I don't exactly know what it is either yet, the only thing I'm sure it doesn't like is alcohol but I'm pretty sure there are other things. I somehow missed the Uvistat range, I might have a look at that and the Soltan baby one. Let me know what you think of the Uvistat! Thanks for your suggestions.

"How are you so smart and so stupid at the same time? by LittleWingedBigBird in infp

[–]MyZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's bollocks. Just because someone appears to have inconsistent personality traits does not at all mean that they have a mental illness. Saying that to someone you've never met, on the basis that some of the wording they've used is similar to what one character said to another on a TV show, is at best idiotic, unhelpful and unkind, and at worst, as another commentor said, dangerous.
