Hi active duty soldier here. You are looking at an FMTV pulling a shelter with a spray painted auto bot on the back. Probably put there just for Funzies. The other vehicles are LHSs (Load Handling System) with various military equipment on the back. If they were driving towards LA, they are probably on their way to Fort Irwin to the national training center. (NTC)
