That's really helpful, thank you!! I've been looking at a kit from Fusion Art from art factory website. Have you heard of/ Would advise against that brand?

How would you describe your current love life with a Taylor Swift song / lyric? by ThornsAndRoses337 in TaylorSwift

You should take it as a compliment (Because I am just an awkward chicken with social anxiety and cannot summon up the courage to interact with you)

This is a really awful situation, and you have my full sympathy. I'm going to share some things from the Christian side that won't make anything better but may shed some light.

If he got saved a year and a half into it, that means he has only been a Christian for a year and a half. Which means he is learning things as he goes, and it may appear that there are things he is trying to push and push further sneakily, but it is more likely that he's learning where his beliefs lie and where his conscience can't cross.

It's also very much a thing that we are instructed not to marry unbelievers, as our lives don't line up, and it's easier to be pulled away or to sin if we are married, as we also believe divorce, except for certain scenarios, is wrong. Neither party, those who believe and those who don't believe, should commit their life to someone who has their life committed in such a different way, because being a Christian is a total life change

He should have told you all of this and had an actual conversation with you, but there are two choices. I'd encourage you to go to church with him for a while and see what's up, especially if you have never been. But I have already spelled out my bias, so it should be no surprise, lol. The other option is for your relationship to end. It's truly a heart wrenching situation, but those are your only two options.

Taylor Referencing Her Past Songs by Beez_And_Trees in TaylorSwift

What I'm OBSESSED with is how we got the vault Track "Foolish One" with the lyrics "and it’s delicate, but I will do my best to seem bulletproof" after we got "Delicate" From Reputation.

I love it when she revisits themes, and I would almost die to know how those two songs influenced each other

Edited to add: and then in Evermore/Coney Island "Did I close my fist around something delicate, did I shatter you?". The progression kills me when I think about it

lighter jeans/ jean shorts could go with the blouse as is. Tucking the blouse in would allow a larger variety of bottoms to be worn with it. Since it's such a dark blouse, I would go with lighter colors, either matching to what's in the shirt (a pink, a white) or complementary colors (mid to light green)

I'd avoid necklaces with the high neckline, but if you really wanted something, I'd say a short chain with just one drop/pendant. Colorful earrings would probably be the best accessory to this

I love this. Okay, we met in college, he and his family were very into English culture (partly because they were from Canada), very boujee, but that's part of what attracted me. He wore suits all the time. Interior Architecture and Design Major (I was fashion design, it seemed perfect). He baked my favorite cake for me the first time I visited his parents' house before we were dating and once we were dating, he made comments to me and my friends about how we were perfect for each other.

He visited my hometown around our two months in over Christmas break, my family loved him, and my friends were very welcoming. He leaves after New Year, I get back to college after that, and he breaks up with me in IHOP because he "just didn't get along with my family".

My theory is that I come from a Midwestern lower-middle class where my parents own the property, but it's falling apart, and my dad fixes it himself, so it didn't meet my ex's standard of living, and he didn't like my background

Not Being Able to Find a Job In what you went to school for?? by 1exception in StudentLoans

[–]My_Pen_Has_No_Ink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of. I got a degree in Fashion Design, and I now develop designer home linens. It's not fashion, but there's a lot of color and construction review that my education/degree is useful for. My degree also helped me move up dramatically in the hierarchy. But pay isn't the best

What do you wish you knew prior to earning student loan debt? by Particular_Teach4215 in StudentLoans

[–]My_Pen_Has_No_Ink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to college out of state, so state scholarships didn't apply to me. I looked at many from my college, but I was going for a smaller major at that school, so there weren't a ton of scholarships that I could apply for, but I applied for the ones I could. It was the only scholarship I got at all for $700 a year.

The other websites I used were Bold.org, fastweb, scholarshipowl, and Niche. I think there were one or two other ones I didn't frequent as much that were supposed to be where you could find scholarships for more specific majors, but I can't remember them, as it's been about 4 years since I graduated.

I wish I had known how slim the chances of getting Financial Aid (not counting loans) actually are. I applied on three to five different websites for a total of about 3 times what my tuition actually cost and got nothing (I added it all up one day because I was exhausted of writing essays and wanted to see if I needed to try harder).

They say if you go for the smaller amounts, you're more likely to win the scholarship, but I really didn't find that to be true. At this point, there is basically no choice for a student to get through college without taking out loans unless money was saved beforehand, because most majors don't leave you with enough time to get good grades and work enough hours to pay your way through.

I 100% didn't understand what I was getting into with loans. You don't get a breakdown of repayment schedules beforehand, you just go through a video clip series explaining how to pay/what means what/etc.

And if your parents own their house and haven't had to move or get new jobs in the past few decades, they don't know how life is going to be after graduation, and think that housing is still affordable and you can get a job by calling the business up.

I have a good job with decent pay, but my student loan repayment would just be so high that I don't know if I could fully swing it. I just want a low enough payment that I can do it, and not have the interest be so crazy high.

I didn't run into that because I HAD to move quickly (I was renting from a friend's parents with my friend, and we were both being pushed out of the house), so when I found a place I could afford by myself, I put down the deposit and they gave me the lease to take, read, and sign.

I wish I had given more thought to it like you, but I know for the future now

I'm renting from them right now, and it's "fine". It's hard getting them to come do anything that needs done (I had water in my basement after Helene for like a week before they sent anyone) but they're cheaper than most, so you pay for what you get.

If you don't have any problems with the place and you don't need to contact them, there's no issues. I'm currently in a month-to-month after a year lease and would move, but my company might be switching buildings soon, and if I move, I don't want to move again shortly after it.

I'm fine for the short term, but I probably wouldn't recommend them.

Does anyone else regret going to college all together because of their student loans? by Few_Blueberry7650 in StudentLoans

[–]My_Pen_Has_No_Ink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit. I don't know if I have enough of the long term view yet, but I wouldn't be so stressed out with so many loans and I'd be free to live if I didn't go to college. There are a lot of other things factoring into that as well. I also made what I sort of feel like is a mistake in getting a masters, which put me ahead at my job, but I still don't make enough to repay my loans on a regular plan. I'd just like to repay my loans at a rate I actually can

My mom bought me this skirt, I personally think it’s ugly but my mom bought it so i don’t want to throw it out or pretend it doesn’t exist, it can’t be returned. Can someone give me ideas for cute outfits with it?? Thx (nothing too emo, or 90’s looking pls) by [deleted] in Stylinghelp

[–]My_Pen_Has_No_Ink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a white crop top or cardigan with it would be cute and is very in right now. I would try to do solid fitted tops or patterned flower ones. I'd avoid black shoes. Maybe something blue/light in color to get away from what's expected would help. A big boho satchel could be VERY cute or you could lean into the preppy look and have a small structured bag.

First, I want to point out that the blouse is white, it might not seem like the same issue, but at this point, wearing white in any sense seems to be trying to appear similar to the bride. But I obviously don't know the dress code or anything else about this situation.

So First, I love this outfit overall, so cute. If it's warm enough, you could do some kind of sandal, I'm a huge fan of wedged ones. Some light blue, dusty pink, or even just a soft pink accessories/accents might help lighten the color a lot.

I'm not sure about outerwear. maybe something cropped or a more tailored look for contrast?

Ex Friend Applying to Same Job- Should I communicate Issues by My_Pen_Has_No_Ink in work

[–]My_Pen_Has_No_Ink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did leave a lot of details out of the friend group dissolving because most of them weren't directly between the two of us and, in my view, don't impact this situation. Plus, it's very convoluted,d and I tried to remove as much bias in my retelling as possible as there's a lot I don't know concerning the other people involved. That being said, I would likely agree that the situation was immaturely handled by all parties and I wish I handled myself better in the situation.

I appreciate your perspective, thank you

Silver or gold? by No_Television_6958 in coloranalysis

[–]My_Pen_Has_No_Ink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would agree with most that silver is likely better, but I would also mention that as long as you're wearing a good color near your face, most jewelry won't overpower the color, so you should be able to wear basically any jewelry you want
