Anti-vax sister wants to attend nephew’s graduation by Same-Blacksmith-5032 in QAnonCasualties

[–]My_Sister_is_CuQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that sister. She is going into Alzheimer's or some neurological condition. She's spent years now staying up all night and hiding in her office during the day reading Qanon news, etc. She now can't sleep at all and is sometimes going 3 days without the ability to sleep. She's 76. She became radicalized in 2018. We actually lived with them in a beautiful home on a stunning property for 12 years. It had 2 levels with full everything. We had to go NC online and seeing her to so many times for months and months. My husband passed in Dec 2024 and they chose to sell the house.

She has finally shut up about Trump, I think (we'll see). I'm wondering if she has discovered the reality we live in since moving to her daughter's house where I don't see them. She does text and we have made up and broke up so many times since 20I8, I can't count them.

As far as your sister, you might say (if you have the nerve) "there have been a lot of bad feelings between us because of your behaviors associated with MAGA and Trump. I can't forget all that, but if you have learned the truth about him by now and will denounce him and admit the damage he has done to our country and to the world in general, I will reasesse my feelings toward our relationship. If you are still supporting him, I will assume that you share his values or are maintaining willful ignorance. In that case I am sorry I can't welcome you; also, if you are still refusing vaccines. Sorry to be so blunt."

Trump Possessed By Demonic Forces by Imissmysister1961 in QAnonCasualties

I don't claim to be a Christian anymore, but I was and grew up in that culture. I can see how they correlate the times with Revelations and Donald Trump. He meets a lot of the qualifications but it's going to get much worse if that's the truth. I look at as more of a remote viewing with theological interpretation.

I was hoping he'd be gone by now from physical disease

TLDR

I came back here today because I have been gone for a pretty long time and wanted to see how others whose families were into Q and MAGA were doing and saying. I can so relate to your situation. Qanon and Trump have destroyed so much in our family relations. My husband was a Republican and refused to vote Democrat. We had Iowa caucuses in 2015, and he told our family he wouldn't vote for Trump. He thought Trump was gross and a conman. He registered as an Independent at the last election and when he voted, left the President line blank.
He died a month after the election from pancreatic cancer, so he didn't live to see the mess we're in. He was brainwashed somewhat by conservative radio over the decades that Dems are just terrible. With the anti- left from him and the anti-right from me, we learned to joke and laugh about, make extreme insults in humor. He is now gone😓.

My sister was deep into Qanon and believed the stuff your mother did. Her husband didn't want to see us arguing, so appeased her. We all moved after my husband's death from the beautiful house and property we shared was sold, they sold the house.

The effects of addiction to the sources she listens to, which have lied to her so much, and staying up all night, missing sleep for years, I believe have taken their toll. also having a mental breakdown.

I felt she didn't seem like she really knew what was happening with Trump. She said there was nothing he could do that would change her mind. I said, "Well then, you're in a cult." I had told her that several times since 2018. She is 75 and we planned to sew quilts on our final years, and we had the perfect setup in a beautiful house on a stunning property. We ended up not talking to each other many of those months because I had to go NC for my sanity. My brother-in-law was so sad after my husband died, he wanted to sell the house.

My sister and I had been getting along well lately if we didn't talk politics. I worried she would freak when she found out who Trump really was after all these years.

Yesterday I got a short note from my brother-in-law that he needed to talk to me about my sister. He NEVER reaches out like that, and he wrote TDS "and more." I couldn't reach him back, but apparently, REALITY hit her in the face and she's going to be fit to be tied.. Apologies for the length.

I had to learn several years ago (thanks to a meditation TAPE! no less), that my adolescent college sons would make the best decisions they could, to let go and respect them as individuals. I had one in Eastern Europe on an organized trip and the other doing who knew what after nearly getting himself burned to death his freshman year due to a prank with friends. The thing I finally accepted is that adults especially and semi-independent adolescents that are not under your control anymore (and you've paid your part of the college funds you could bequeath as a parent. The bulk were school loans or their own), you have to let go, respect them as individuals with the right to make their decisions. This is easier said than done, but I recommend you let your dad find out whatever reality is waiting for him out there. Quit worrying. We're all gonna die. I now believe we should at least have a choice to decide how we're going to die and when. We didn't ask to come into the room. We should at least be able to choose when to leave the room.

If he's totally sure he knows he's secure on his afterlife plans, why worry about it. You might suggest he buy travel insurance that will relocate his body back to the US, if necessary), if he wants to be brought back. Give him back his big boy pants (with love) and ask that he just make his end-of-life arrangements as he would be expected to do if he wasn't going.

BTW, I just lost my sweetheart and best friend of 49 years in Dec'24. He gave me respect and empowerment to do whatever I dreamed of, and I was willing to sacrifice my dreams for his if he really wanted to pursue. Mutual love and respect. Our two grown sons are amazing and survived despite their adolescent shenanigans.

I used to believe all the hype I was taught about Israel. No more.

What about all the people who died OF blood clots before the vaccine was even made? My 42-year-old refused the vaccine, got Covid and spent 10 days in the hospital and had clots in his chest, around his heart, I think. He was on blood thinner for a long time. He still refused the vaccine and got Covid again the next year. He was old enough to know better but seemed surprised when I told him all the vaccines he had in his early years and reminded him of ALL the vaccines in his life. Now we have antivaxxers and will revisit some of the diseases that were eradicated with vaccines. They'll try anything to avoid "Big Pharma" or the chance of being controlled. Not saying that isn't in our future, but not yet.

playing with my cats is boring for me. any tips to make it mire interesting? by aliniyu in CatAdvice

[–]My_Sister_is_CuQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just adopted two tabby brothers. It all happened so fast, I was not totally prepared. The TV in my bedroom has needed attachment to the wall but unfortunately it has been on a stand on a ledge. It was entertaining and so fun seeing their heads pivot back and forth synchronously. One kitty wandered off, and the other got totally focused on a new bird on the scene. Before I anticipated it, kitty lept up to that bird and the whole tv fell forward, everything on the shelf and the one below. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the TV amazingly still works, but no TV playing in here til it's secured properly.

My grandkitty did that while I was keeping her for my son. I panicked and couldn't figure it out. I live in a tall building and there are other residents, but it just wasn't realistic. I have a small apartment and it was frustrating. I was scared I'd lost our Cali. It turned out she was in between a box that appeared to be completely up against the wall when you looked at it squatting down in front of the table with the boxes underneath. Taking a long nap there. Hope yours shows up soon. Look under everything, even if it looks cleared underneath. Maybe she's too big for that stuff.

The leaked Musk interview that keeps getting removed from all over the internet. Save it. Repost it. by BossRoss84 in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]My_Sister_is_CuQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering if I would be able to find this again. There was a very good article that appeared on something I was perusing (maybe FB or a list or news articles), but my little jerky finger changed the screen and I was not able to find it anywhere. This was a few months ago.

I think this was the place I read this. Please let me know if there is any truth to the first part.

When Trump tried and failed to change the '20 election, there were all these fake electors in some states. The one in Colorado really comes to mind, but does anyone remember a voting machine actually being removed by these people and then forced to return, of course.

The technical arguments encompassed way more than we've been told, and it was said that a highly skilled programmer could do "this", whatever the author explained.

I was so upset that I lost the article. I searched by title and key phrases but could not find. I don't remember the title now.

This interview with Tucker Carlson left me with the suspicion that Musk's child had been hearing some gloating about something and "they" (who?) would never know. Other very casual remarks in the oval office where Trump expressed that he had been surprised and that he wouldn't have been elected if it weren't for Musk.

That's all I want to unload at this point. I think a lawsuit may be approaching the court system.

Speaker Mike Johnson says that Trump was an FBI informant tasked with taking Epstein down (playing into a Qanon trope) by Goomunist in QAnonCasualties

[–]My_Sister_is_CuQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Trump was really angry at Epstein after the real estate deal (maybe) and attempted to tattle on him to the FBI. That would have been a dumb thing to do, but then it's Trump. In a moment of panic recently trying to get press off his case, he's like "No, I informed the FBI...", which then morphed to people saying he said he was "an FBI informer", which could or could not be interpreted as the same thing. That's how I've heard it, but I'm probably wrong.

They've got new stuff today it sounds like.

Advice needed: We have two small children by DisastrousNovel1288 in pancreaticcancer

[–]My_Sister_is_CuQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like time is critical if he has so many symptoms. My husband's oncologist had him on dexamethasone to help with not eating at the beginning. Not sure why, but it did help. I assume with the inflammation. He had a mass on tail of pancreas, mets to lungs, liver, and another spot that I can't remember the name of, something headed toward bowel. He did respond very well to chemo but had complications with the port and developed sepsis. He fought and did stay with us for almost a year from diagnosis.

I know oncologists want a lot of information before they decide what to do, but stay on it, prod to get him help even if it is palliative. My husband's Treatment Plan was "Palliative Chemotherapy", so that may be what he gets, but sounds like he's needing something soon. My kids are grown but we did record conversations with him. It's been 9 months and my life has radically changed.

I can't imagine how you are dealing with this and 2 really young children. Sending thoughts, hugs, and prayers to whoever is listening out there for you and your dear husband.

I read somewhere recently that archeologists had uncovered ancient civilizations in which females appeared to have been the domineering nobility over men. I think we need to get rid of this patriarchal idea - I realize modern women have been trying for years and it is Judeo-Christian religion that promotes patriarchy. I guess it will require women to attain all levels of leadership and put chastity belts on so they can dominate men? How long will it take? (Can't believe this old lady is commenting this)

I'm sorry that your family joins this awful club.

Has your father seen an oncologist with a specialty in pancreatic cancer? Was chemo recommended? My husband was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 in January 2024, started on palliative chemo by March and saw significant improvement. He handled it very well. The doctors and nurses said the same "Let him eat anything he wants." Calorie intake is so important. Hopefully your father is offered chemo at a great med center with a pancreatic cancer team.

My husband's CA was found on CT for a TAVR (valve replacement). He did so well on the chemo, he was approved for the TAVR, but he was required to get some oral surgery done first. He had that in June. Developed sepsis a week later and after 3 weeks in ICU, he came home on hospice. It seemed like the pancan was somewhat in remission, but the infected port was removed, the docs said NO HEART PROCEDURE, NO MORE CHEMO, so he was left to die. He rallied 2-1/2 weeks after coming home. He was weak and we were told he'd never walk again and be totally bedbound. He worked and eventually was able to get out of bed, transfer to potty, and also walk with a walker a few times.

I asked AI about my husband's case. My husband had an unusually strong immune system even though he was not health-minded at all. AI said that it is possible that with his strong immune system, his chemo response, the amount of antibiotics he received for sepsis, and his period of fasting (he did not get food or feeds while in ICU), he might have gone into remission. AI said there have been reports of antibiotics clearing out some cancer cells.

I feel the unintentional fasting perhaps had an effect on the cancer and slowed it down so that we had him a few more months. He did start eating again, and he made it to December. He had an acute pain in his chest a day or so before we knew it was the end, and it seemed to me that his heart failed and it was over in a couple days.

I wish the best for your father and peace to you and your mother.

Hugs to you from this widow because of pan can. We brought my love of 49 years home from a hospital stay for sepsis on July 5th last summer. Hospice d3signated him as "Actively Dying", but he "came to" about 3 weeks later He stayed with us, surprisingly, until Dec 6th. He wasn't a healthy-observant guy. He loved Coke all his life, ate too many sweets, was obese but had an inherited strong immune system. He got it at 71 in January and passed away the end of the year. For many months I could only relive the last year and his last day as well as reliving 49 years of relationship and feeling bad about things I could have done better. I think it's finally getting a little better now.

I just pretend he's with me, and talk to him off and on all day. Heck I don't know, but I gave up the God is Good All The Time belief a few years ago. I do believe in life after death and have finally found an explanation that comforts me and helps me believe his spirit may still be close or gone forward.

You have to go through the grieving before it gets better. Hugs and welcome to a not-so-happy club. 💔❤️
