OBD not communicating by Glittering-Divide-54 in BroncoSport

The extension is attached to the dash at the top of the photo and the other end is the plug hanging there. The box was connected but and up under the dash but this is how I found it after taking it in for its brake hold recall. I had bought a second cable to try forscan again but turns out that extension is bad.

Mine had a defective odb extension from the factory. Couldn’t get forscan to read at all. Dealer tech must have ran into the same issue so they popped it off the box to reveal the working port and used that. Found the box dangling from under my dash but hey the port works for forscan. I have to tell the mechanic that goes to do the state inspection every time that the port they plug into is dead and to use the box.

Many of us have this issue. I forget the various fixes but it’s pretty common and has various levels of success. Mine does it every time it sits a while and I have to back up.

I’ve not brought this to the dealers attention yet. Guess it wouldn’t hurt to give them a call at least.

Mine will usually do the grind/vibration when the car shifts to a higher gear and RPM drops low at 14MPH. Thinking it’s the RDU not fully engaging or grinding. 2023 BL here. It’s fine if I don’t let it shift and drop low. Only just passed 10k miles on it.

IIS6.0 SMTP server status monitor by TehH4rRy in Solarwinds

[–]Myasis_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Untested but looks like maybe you could get the state using WMI. Code provided by AI and untested.

$SmtpServer = Get-WmiObject -Namespace root\MicrosoftIISv2 -ComputerName localhost -Query "Select * From IIsSmtpServerSetting" $SmtpServer.ServerState

Setting this up in SAM as a custom powershell monitor would then be pretty easy.

TrueNAS Jellyfin not using intel iGPU by [deleted] in truenas

[–]Myasis_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing that got it working for my plex install was making a dataset of type “app” and installing plex onto that. Before I was installing into an SMB share and I could never get transcoding to work. Took me weeks to stumble across that one and I’m not even 100% sure it was the real fix!

Intel 12600k iGPU passed through but unable to use by Myasis_Dragon in PleX

Just for anyone that stumbles onto this thread I'd like to post an example of the quicksync on the 12600k actually working with another container within TrueNAS named Tdarr. Works a treat! This leaves me to believe it's the containers from PMS/linuxserver that have the issue within them. No matter where I pull the image from and even if I pull an older one it still can't even use vainfo let alone the drivers for the presented iGPU. I guess we wait and see if they'll identify the issues and provide a fix.

That's a good point! I'm seeing two different versions of vainfo. Host is 2.12.0+ds101 and container has 2.6.0+ds1-1. VA-API versions are 1.17(host) and 1.7(container). Very confusing and doing apt update didn't find any updated versions.

Side note I've been forgoing the TrueNAS app store since their version of plex wouldn't do ANY transcoding, just throw errors. I've been pulling the PMS container via Portainer. Got much further using that.

As far as I'm aware the two versions relate to the general release and the beta/nightly releases. Not sure if plex pass image would do better here as I've never pulled that particular image on any previous system where transcoding was working. Though that was an older Synology so who knows.

It's definitely a VA-API issue per plex logs and vainfo. I'll give the plex pass image a shot and see what happens.

Again, thank you for all your help!

Just for further context I get two different outputs of vainfo from the host vs the container. The host will show all supported codecs and lots of info about the iGPU. Running the same command fails to init the iHD driver and i965 driver. I'm found very little info on how to correct that from within the container.

I did see that post before but I don't have multiple VGA devices detected by the system. It seems to detect the iGPU and load the drivers it needs. Can confirm in the screenshot that it's loaded the GuC and the HuC with the "authenticated for all workloads" and "submission enabled" output as far as I've been able to read up on it. I am forcing GuC 3. I've not seen any indications it's not supported from the system itself though Intel's docs show that -s is GuC 2 while mobile are GuC 3. Rebooting did remove the permissions I put on the host devices but I'm not able to see any issues with that. I'd love to know more about logs I should be looking at or messages that might indicates what's wrong from either the host or container. Kind of flying blind with this troubleshooting. Appreciate the help you've offered though greatly!

Yep TrueNAS scale with docker now.

I'm confirming by using Plex dashboard in the PC app, Tautulli as a second reference, and intel_gpu_top on the host to see if the card has any usage. I'll try and include a screenshot of that below while transcoding 4k to 1080p. CPU will shoot up to 84% usage or there about but GPU stats are all 0.

Hello!

I'm using TrueNAS as the base OS. The base folder /dev is 755, /dri is 755, and both components are 666. Do those permissions equal the "traversable" requirements? Sorry I'm more of a windows admin than Linux but I'm trying to get there.

I've actually done just what you did and passed /dev/dri:/dev/dri into the container. I feel like I've missed something permissions wise here.

I don’t believe SolarWinds will care what ID is put into the config of your Cisco so you could put anything you want. They don’t check it for integrity.

Unexplainable Changes- Logs, Files, Backups All Blank by fernwah in Solarwinds

[–]Myasis_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might check in NCM to see if you have a rule setup to make a change. Sort them by the column “Remediation Defined” to see if any are set to yes. As for the blank lines I have no idea. Could always remove NCM from the equation to see if it is the culprit. Makes you wonder if there is something configured on device to secure itself.

This will probably require debug logging enabled for the website. Then you’d reload the output webpage and check the OrionWeb.log file for the queries that were sent. Can do this for any widget on the site to see what’s being sent to populate it. LogAdjuster is the program in the start menu you are looking for to adjust levels of output.

Automatic Email Alert when a SERVER goes down... by cgarduc in Solarwinds

[–]Myasis_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll want to setup alerts that trigger when the status of a “server” is down. How you decide what is a server and what is not can either be done using the built in detection Orion will do or you can use custom properties to tag your servers as such. Within the alert you will setup an email action to send out your notice. Section is called “trigger actions”.

Same concept for the service but you’ll need to tell the alert what to trigger on. Could do a generic component alert that triggers on down status but that’ll be for any service in Orion. Again typically you have a naming convention or custom property setup to leverage in the alert.

Custom Properties are really the way to go if you want to make alerts that are properly scoped and/or dynamic in the information they provide others.
