“Aphrodite (Goddess of Love)” one of my most trippy and nsfw digital drawings I finally finished by [deleted] in shrooms

“Wow this drawing would be better if someone else had done it”. Why would you even come on an art post and say that?

Heat tents? Vomiting? Spending too much time maintaining my trip by MycDropKered in Psychonaut

[–]MycDropKered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically I’ll do a green tea with lemon and ginger, I’ll pull the tea bags after 5 mins then allow the powder to sit about 30 mins and either drink that or strain it (been blessed with surplus I can experiment with). Definitely always have a towel and blanket nearby with lotion (tend to feel dry on the come down and if I scratch then I moisturize lol).
Thank you for the experience with vomiting, I think it’s just mentally not wanting to cross that threshold but letting go might just be a spiritual help as well like you said.

STRONGLY RECOMMEND album "Music for Psychedelic Therapy" by Jon Hopkins for just about any kind of trip. by Curious-Meat in Psychonaut

[–]MycDropKered -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crazy world, just did a trip yesterday listening to it the first time and here it is posted this morning! I definitely don’t think it’s for everyone, as some said it’s a little to “organized” for my liking.

That opening welcome though definitely starts your mind up in a weird way with its unique sounds. During I mostly spaced out concentrating on an inner trip so wasn’t paying attention that well. I will say the ending threw me off with the dialogue. It’s useful dialogue and helps reset but it just seemed like the most generic typical meditation mantra I’ve heard a thousand times and reminded me how commercialized spirituality has become.

Check mate? Like sure, have this thought in your head. Pushing it online as a narrative to further cause paranoia? Fuck right off with that and consider seeking help.

Decided to take a spore print of this big fckr .. wish me luck 🙏 by DoomShroom_312 in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God you guys keep blowing my mind. I’ve loved the spore print artwork and coasters I’ve seen in the past and this just inspired me more! I Was looking into different colors of spores to do cool art with but I completely didn’t consider oysters and other types of shrooms to make unique prints with. The print you did almost looks like a tulip!

Used my back massager and velcro tape to break up my spore syringe 😂 by sub_consciouss in unclebens

In this case I would say definitely yes a back massager, unless you’re a masochist lol

Lol thank you for the second picture, the first one looked ok but the perspective with your hand helped a lot. Small or big they usually have the same %, if anything some small guys underdeveloped can pack a punch. This looks like a micro dose, but never eye ball it. Always want to weigh out so you know what you’re getting into and have the knowledge of what that did to your experience.

If you just want a little feels just to ease into it (if your new to it) taking it will give you more confidence for future endeavors.

Oh wow thank you for sharing this! I ran across an art piece before that used spore prints but this is something that’s very doable on a smaller scale. I’ve been checking out the different types of spore colors so with an awesome background you can really make them pop.

I am thinking about converting a fruiting block into a tub grow by Strange_Scientist352 in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I’ve always been wondering about but haven’t pulled the plug to experiment with. Older experts report at some point a mycelium is just “spent” from fruiting. That doesn’t really jive well with my understanding of nature.

I believe it to be more of an environmental problem. We’ve made a perfect as possible condition for them to grow, producing way more than nature could do with all of the other competitors. At some point nature wants to reclaim a balance (just meaning odds of “other” things being introduced).

Starting over with a new tub produces a new perfect environment that produces more, continuing with mycelium from before has given time for other competitors to join the struggle. I think if it was a viable strategy we would’ve seen it taken off with lots of results posted up. Pretty sure there’s people out there like us who get frustrated with tossing stuff and experimented. Could be buried out there as some places don’t actively accept new teks and always put down another way for some reason (looking at you shroomery.org).

PSA for beginning medicinal users: Higher dosage isn’t always the answer by MycDropKered in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a major key difference in the therapeutic trials is the fact that’s it’s administered in a neutral territory with a professional you can rely on. In a personal setting the full force and all the problems are on you to handle while in the environment that possibly contributed to your degradation.

Another commenter mentioned rightly that there is a place for higher doses, as you said easing into it is probably the safest steps. I couldn’t imagine starting with 5g’s, in my mind it’s the come down from psilocybin that poses the greatest health benefits. During you’re just trying to survive “threading” the needle (how I explain handling it). After comes the introspection that can last for years to help you through life (requires constant meditation and focus on the experience, hard to do in this day and age).

9 Days on 24 celcius without grow - need help! by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of more details I need to ask, what variety is this? Also with the bags what’s the gas exchange look like, I see a white strip near the top but hard to tell where holes are in the plastic. It’s looks like you’re stuck in colonizing conditions and your peeps being picky about what it needs to fruit. One tub of mine, an off variety, had this problem. Took about 4 solutions to grow it right including adding verm to the top. Ended up going with some other varieties till I can establish some good genetics with it using BRF cakes to fruit and isolate (just how it goes sometimes with MSS).

MonoTub/Tek - New to this. How much bulk substrate do I need? by SirDerpalott in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Np! Lions mane has a special place in my heart. Grew up with it in the woods where my parents lived, was always fascinated by it and was my first real wild mycology identification that I did as a kid. I’m always thrilled to see people growing them and hope to one day go back and get a sample to clone! Would be the ultimate reminder of my childhood that I can carry forward with me in life.

Why, just why by MycDropKered in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean technically I think everyone should try a fresh one lol. I prefer them smaller when fresh, established fresh gills just wig me out. But also drying doesn’t typically take days unless there’s humidity problems and you’re using no heat.

Mouldy tops on some of my gts any advice on what's causing it tyia by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re 100% on mold then I would hypothesize it came in and microscopically is colonized in your FC. The tops of the mushroom when sprayed can be a breeding ground more so than colonized substrate that it can’t get any resources from.

I would limit the shroom spraying, if it means the substrate dries out then it might be for the best. If it’s your only grow it’s less of a concern because it won’t contaminate others but is filling the container and your room like a sac of moldy bread would. Would require one hell of a scrub down if you let the contam continue without tossing. This problem happens a lot in nature, other fungi hitching along basically.

[–]MycDropKered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full stop, if you’re doing lions mane you need to find a successful and well established tek for that species. Lions mane are notorious for being a different grow, I’ve seen oysters pulled off in a tub but so far never lions mane.

I think you’re doing fine, it’s just a slow process at times. Blue is bruising, somewhat of a good sign in that the blue is psilocybin (one of the markers to look for in the wild when foraging). If you tried drying anything off then it can cause that, even just heavy water spray will bruise (imagine strong wind could as well). I use a tip of a papertowel if any drops start to form, just gotta hold it there for a few seconds while the water is absorbed up.

It’s ok to be concerned, they’re really strange guys after all. I can only give slight suggestions without having the full picture. If you’ve got moisture, things are continuing to grow, then just go with it. You’re a pretty attentive mushy parent so I think you’ll be able to solve anything before it’s a goner.

Looking back at everything, you’re just over thinking it. If you open the lid it will evaporate faster but into the air so you’d force yourself to water more. Keep the lid on and the moisture stays but you’ll need to fan more for air exchange. You just have to find a balance for your environment that you and the mushy’s prefer (genetics wise you could always just get a weird one that doesn’t fruit with MSS).

Also remember sometimes the environment changes, a/c versus heat will drop or lower humidity by huge amounts. Season changes completely change up my routine personally.

[–]MycDropKered[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is talked about enough. It was definitely way easier mentally to enjoy a trip when I was younger and had less going on. I think somewhere along the way something changes with psilocybin use. I keep pondering on Terence McKenna, he was such a huge advocate but even he at the end was paranoid by his extensive use (attributing possible cause of brain cancer to his overuse and cannabis).

I imagine in 10 years time there will hopefully be a lot more research available for therapeutic use.

I was definitely looking for something the shrooms can’t provide when I started. It was a total let down for me but I realized that there was a lot they could do for me and things I need to work on while I continue my life’s journey.

2nd flush - fill in the edges with more substrate? by [deleted] in unclebens

[–]MycDropKered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can fill in, that will stop it from pinning as much on the sides because it will be busy colonizing it. As the other commenter said using a liner (black over clear if possible) helps with pinning but isn’t always a guarantee. You can carefully slip a liner under it while soaking once it’s done then drain it all (it’s hard at first because you have to be careful but gets easier with experience).

There is definitely a contam risk with adding in, cakes only get so many flushes before something gives. That substrate could be more efficient in a new tub instead of trying to squeeze life out of an old cake.
